A local INSTITUTION! One of the best people watching bars downtown. Their lunch menu is filled with slam dunks — burgers, sandwiches, and yummy sides, too. Generous pours and a classic dimly lit dive bar atmosphere.
Always watch your drink in a tourist town!!

I came here for late night drinks. Tim and Joshue were awesome bartenders. Immediately make you feel at home and make some great drinks. Music was also great. Quintessential dive bar would absolutely come back

Dylan, Joe Shu (shoe) and, James took the best care of us! Dylan gets an honorable mention because he saw peace and happiness within us as we saw in him! He’ll take care of you and make sure you’re having a good night just because he tries! Dylan did just that, and for that sole reason- we’ll be back! Great prices and even better pours!

I will never step foot in this place again. Unless you are a local be prepared to be treated like crap. I went to the service bar and wait for drink. Some guy came up behind me and yelled his order to the bartender even though I was standing there.. she got him his drinks and then he came back cause now he wanted shot and yelled again his order again while I was standing there. He then came back and was reaching around me to get menus and I wasn't moving as I have waiting to get a drink. I finally get my drink and cashed out and I said to the bartenders that was so ruid of him to yell his order and you take his order when I clearly was standing here waiting.. her reply was hes a regular and I wait on them first sorry... really this is how you treat people... do yourself a favor and dont go in there in matter of fact if your not from this area dont visit any of the bars since now the locals dont want anyone from out of town or state to be in their bars... pathetic

We called into St. George’s Tavern for drink(s) & had a blast. Our Bartender Heather made our first visit to St. George’s Tavern a very memorable & fabulous one. They were not at all “stingy” with their pours.
One could easily tell this is right in the heart of the tourist area & had plenty of locals & regulars on this visit. We had a great time hanging out & sharing stories with the staff & locals. The locals also treated us very well.
When going to St. Augustine, please stop in & say Hello to Heather & the rest of the staff. All made us feel very welcome & happy. They even let me place my “REX~LIVING A DREAM” sticker on their cooler for the world to see.
We bought a couple shirts & some other swag. We had a great time in St. Augustine this past visit & this definitely was the highlight of the tour. We will be back for sure.

We didn’t have food. Football on TV and an obnoxious Seahawks fan was being super loud so the bartender had to speak louder to compete and it was just too much. Maybe better on another day.

A bar that's a bar. Solid, stiff drinks. Cold beer. Bar food. Sports on the TVs. Great conversations. Everything you need.

I've been coming to St Augustine for many years but this was the first time I've ever been to Saint George tavern. It definitely did not disappoint. The place was great, the drinks were very reasonable, and the staff was very welcoming. It kind of gave you the feeling of being at an old Pirate bar. Meehan's has always been my go-to bar in St Augustine. St George tavern just took over my top spot. I can't wait till my next visit in September.
