The food was pretty good but the service was lacking. Our server disappeared for about 30 minutes after delivering our food.

Always great service along with a delicious seafood meal.
Very good meal at a reasonable price. Best shrimp in St. Augustine. Don't feed the gators if you eat on the porch!!

We I wanted to try this place for sometime now and we were just up The road at the outlets. The service was very good. My catfish was a little undercooked. My wife really liked the butterfly shrimp. They have some really good daily specials. We really like the great grits. Our total was just around $50 for two of us.

Great food. No wait.. 5 star service with a smile no joke. We were visiting from Seattle. They had the deck lights off and the doors locked. But, they offered and then did open the doors and turned back on the lights for us. Now we did not see any gators. But as the sign says Don't!! For a reason...

In support of our knowledge of good seafood, we are native to St. Augustine and in years past, avid fishermen. We love fresh seafood and eat it quite often. We had not been to St. Mary’s Seafood in a while, so we decided to go there again with family in town. The broiled Mahi Mahi was dry, tasteless and not quite sure it was Mahi. It had a bit of a strong taste, unlike Mahi. Another dish at the table was salmon, and this too was dry and the fishy taste was stronger than a good salmon filet. The green beans were out of a can with little to no seasoning and the grits were runny, very watery. The hush puppies were good and crisp, and the fried mushrooms were great. There were no complaints on the fried St. Mary’s Platter, which consisted of shrimp, oysters, clams, a white fish and scallops. The server was great. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and quick with drink refills, which is why the rating is a 3 and not a 1 or 2. Not sure if the business has been sold or if there’s a new cook in the kitchen, but improvements certainly need to be made. The quality of food has certainly declined over the past several months. At any rate, we most likely will not go back with so many other great options here.

I’m always looking for a perfectly plate of fried shrimp when we visit from North Carolina. I’m a Jax native. We went to st Mary’s seafood hoping for some good seafood and we were very happy with this recommendation from a local. The seating out on the deck at 5:30 was perfect. My fried shrimp were great! My husband had broiled grouper.

In town for weekend and wanted seafood. They had a great pick-two special. Wife had fried shrimp and fish, yummm. I had blackened fish and scallops. Portions were big. Server seemed a bit unorganized. Took forever to get tarter sauce so asked someone else. Hate being negative but getting condiments requested before food came when already half finished with meal.. .

Saint Marys seafood is always good, the staff is very friendly in the outdoor seating opens up to a large pond where you can feed the fish and turtles that will delight both the Young and old. I truly wonderful restaurant.

We have been here a few times and it’s always great. However on this visit 11/15/25 my wife ordered the 2lbs of crab legs as usual. This time it was cooked with Old Bay seasoning when it’s normally just steamed plain. That wasn’t so much of a big deal but the drawn butter was butter oil and not real butter. We asked for drawn butter but two server’s told us that what we had was butter. Not sure when they switched to using oil but it was a disappointment!
