We ventured here on our way into St. Augustine. I had been craving a coffee all day and what better way to enjoy one than at a cafe hailing from Down Under.
The first thing I noticed was how welcoming and polite the baristas were to us. They were happy to answer questions and give suggestions. Even as more customers arrived, they treated them with the same respect and kindness.
I prefer coffee shops that make their own syrups as they make the coffees taste better and show their dedication to the art of coffee-making.
To my joy, this place not only makes their own syrups, but recently released their house-made Pumpkin Spice syrup. Even Fall in Florida deserves a slice of authentic pie and this did not disappoint. My latte was the perfect beverage for a cool day. It wasnāt too sweet and the sprinkle of vanilla spice on top added to its perfection.
My fiancƩ enjoyed a cafe au lait with the loveliest steamed foam and hint of sugary sweetness. The chocolate dessert we shared was a unique combination of an Australian chocolate bar, caramel and chocolate on top. I thought it would be way too rich but surprisingly it had the right blend of ingredients to give it a pie-like texture.
Vegetarian options: Any beverage would be vegetarian. All of the pastries should be vegetarian. Iām unsure about the savory foods.
Dietary restrictions: They have alternative milks.
Parking: Free parking lot.
Kid-friendliness: A lot of yummy options for the kiddos.
Wheelchair accessibility: Itās one story and plenty of space.

I love Kookaburra Coffee. I have it a few times a week depending on my route. I rate it as the best ācoffeeā in town. They disappointed me this morning though. I was next in line to order. However, one of the workers walked up and refilled her own cup with the last of the drip coffee, and they didnāt have a back up. They were going to make more, but I had already been standing in line for 10 minutes and was now running late for my appointment. It just felt very unprofessional. Granted Iām in a terrible mood because I havenāt had my coffee yet, but maybe if the barista was working a bit more efficiently and running a little less on good vibes, the situation would have been avoided. Not sure if I will return to this store again.
UPDATE: I have since returned. The quality of the coffee is just too good to pass up. Although I am still unhappy with this particular experience, overall this is an excellent coffee shop with very dedicated baristas.

I was so excited to try this place. I took my mom today and I was beyond disappointed. My mom ordered the Jackaroo with sausage. It was supposed to have sweet potatoes and broccoli in it. I didn't see any veggies and the overpowering flavor of low quality sausage ruined hers. I have the Curry Veggie. I took one bite and returned my food. (Which I never do unless really bad) It could have bounced off a wall and tasted of mashed broccoli. I gave one star because the employees and the coffee were good.
