The Manatee is where anyone local says to go when you ask for the best places for vegan in St. Augustine, so we were really looking forward to trying them out. After we left, both my companion and I shared that we didn’t really have a great experience. The food was okay but not great. The atmosphere and staff were not friendly. I have found it hard to find good vegan/vegetarian restaurants in the area.
Manatee Cafe is is my favorite! ALL of the menu options sound amazing and from what I have tasted are amazing. Being vegetarian in other restaurants in the area is rough seeing most places are purely meat and/or seafood based. I can usually find one thing at a regular restaurant in the area like a salad with barely anything on it. bleh

I forgot to take photos! I'll try and come back again. We had to evacuate a hurricane and were so hungry and tired of the chips and stuff we brought with us. Luckily, these guys were open and had something for the whole family. The lady that helped us was amazingly nice. The pictures on the wall are adorable and match the theme perfectly. The food was delicious and so filling. I can't even remember the last time I had a vegan waffle!
