The French dip sandwich was delicious, plenty of tender beef with lots of flavor and the au jus was exactly right. Fries crisp and delish.
Downsides: the rice in the chicken and rice soup wasn't cooked through perfectly, and the service was only OK.
The biscuits were great ! The coffee tasts like hot water with no flavor. The gravy has no milk in it. Had we ordered eggs maybe our experience would have been better.
Visiting from Iowa and found this spot! It was our go to breakfast spot. It felt like the ma pa places back home.
Fathers Day breakfast buffet was a nice surprise! Blueberry muffins, Canoli stuffed French Toast with fresh Blueberries, and the Datil Bacon gravy and Sausage gravy to put on fried chicken breasts or the home fries. They had an Omelet station also but I filled up on all the fresh baked goods and gravies.
Great breakfast!!
Came here today on Father's day.
They had a special buffet it was absolutely wonderful!
Thanks to the wait staff and cooks for making my day fantastic!
We went here our first morning in St Augustine and ended up going back the last day of our trip. The coconut French toast was AMAZING! My daughter and I insisted we go back to get it again 😁 Everything we got was delish. Highly recommend. Be ready to wait a little bit for your food but the food is worth the wait!!
Perfect little diner, food was very good. Even though it was packed everything arrived very fast. All the service workers where great.
We arrived at 8 and left by 8:30 that's how quick it was.
Took my mother here for the Mother's Day breakfast buffet and we were not disappointed. The staff were all very friendly and they provided too notch service. The food was really good as well as the coffee, which we found out was from a local roaster.
I ordered the Spot On fish and grits today at The Spot. Once ordered we waited for an hour to receive our food. Once the meal arrived the fish was so over cooked I could not even cut into it. Our waitress was nice, but just brought an order of fatty bacon to replace the fish. One of the worst experiences I have had at a restaurant in quite sometime. Spoke to the manager without any real resolution to the issue I had. I certainly will not return here.
Ok, so it has been a while since I did a review. This summer I am starting a blog on biscuits and gravy. So today my fiancée and I decided to enjoy the day in St Augustine. I made a post on 904Eats on facebook and asked for a place between Jax and Aug on HWY 1. I got The Spot Cafe. I ordered the southern comfort, biscuits, and gravy with chicken between them. Came with eggs and home-style potatoes. It was so good. When I start my biscuits and gravy blog (summer 2025). I will be sure to add this place. The biscuits were fluffy and most. The gravy just needed a little more pepper for my taste. On my blog scale, I will give it a 9.5 out of 10. Views going on Yelp, Google Review, and my blog page coming soon.

If your looking for a delicious breakfast where you leave so full you could pop.. this is where you need to go! Great service, fantastic prices and (again) the food was 10/10! Your only problem will be trying to figure out what to order! Just know your tastebuds will thank you 😊 I would love to give details on all the food order but we INHALED it! so... pancakes, chicken, biscuits n gravy, grits, eggs, bacon... everything was a yes!

Went to the Spot for the first time yesterday after living in St Augustine for over 10 years, and it was so good we came back for lunch today!
Everything we tried (chicken & waffles, tex-mex skillet, muffaletta, cuban sandwich, ybor salad - a lot!) was delicious, the service was prompt and friendly, and the prices were almost shockingly reasonable relative to most St Aug restaurants.
Totally worth the little drive about 5 minutes north of the city gates!

Can’t believe we’ve been driving by The Spot for 13 years and never tried it. Truly a hidden gem in St Augustine. Excellent service AND food. We enjoyed brunch so much on Saturday that we went back for lunch on Sunday!
