While I was down in Florida for school a friend told me about this place. It turned into one of my stops while down in Florida. The bartenders are amazing and make it feel like a hometown bar. I maybe from Minnesota but I never felt like an outsider. When I visit central Florida again I will make sure to stop by.
The Drunken Parrot isn’t just a bar, it’s a place where people are actually looked after. Amanda runs this place with intention and she pays attention, she steps in when she needs to, and she makes sure everyone, especially women, are safe here. That matters more than people realize.
The staff knows their regulars, knows the vibe, and keeps things respectful. The energy is laid-back and real — no nonsense, no weird tension. You can just be here.

This place is home. I’ve been coming here since I was able to drink and they’ve changed owners a time or two, but I have never felt different. Now a friend owns the bar and once again it feels more like home. There’s a pink square dedicated to me in the bathroom. The beer is cold and the regulars are sharp. Howie has a joke on deck and Amanda is ready with a smart ass comment back to anyone’s sass in good fun. Anyone who walks is a regular. This is your home town bar and...
