My husband planned a day trip for us to go over to Roy's for lunch on a Saturday. We are usually in Steinhatchee once a month or so to go fishing. This particular day it was raining, but the main goal was Roy's.

He and my son had been in after a fishing all day just before Hurricane Idalia. He talked frequently about wanting to take me there once the restaurant rebuilt & re-opened. He was so excited that Roy's was finally back up & running that we just made a day of it. Drove over on a rainy Saturday, enjoyed lunch & just drove around the town and along the coast.

The restaurant itself was beautiful with stunning views of one of our favorite places. We had blue crab claws as the appetizer (the special of the day) & they were amazing. Beautifully plated and delicious. I had blackened gulf shrimp, and my husband had their stuffed flounder. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. Oh...and I'm still dreaming about that Greek potato salad. 😊 The staff was friendly and attentive, and we already noted a couple of items we wanted to try "next time."

We are so, so heartbroken to learn that Roy's was leveled by Hurricane Helene. The entire town of Steinhatchee has endured so much - 3 hurricanes in 13 months. We live in Valdosta, GA so we got direct hits from these storms, too, and are no stranger to their damage, but to see the complete devastation of some of our favorite places is just beyond words.

We are heartbroken with and for you, and want you to know that no matter what is decided moving forward, that you have made an impact on not only the Steinhatchee community, but the surrounding communities as well. I'm so glad to have had the experience of our rainy day date spent at Roy's. Praying for you all. 🙏

I didn’t take any pics other than the sunset. However, we came in an hour before closing. Our waitress was sweet and on target. Food allergies are my nemesis but she and the cooks made sure my meal didn’t have any of my food allergies. I had the blackened salmon and it was DELICIOUS!!! The salad bar was a nice addition, although I couldn’t eat the specialty salad due to food allergies. The Italian dressing was yummy. My husband had the crab corn chowder and he absolutely loved it! Thank you to our waitress and the cooks in the back for a delightful, delicious dinner!

Beautiful restaurant nestled right on the water. Sunsets here are absolutely stunning. Salad bar is known for their potatoe salad & bread & butter pickles. Seafood is always delicious as well as any other dish I've tried. You can also bring your catch here and they'll prepare it. This place has been hit several times by Hurricanes putting them out of business for months. Each time they reopen they come back better than before. Lunch goers..there is a lunch menu offering favorite items in smaller portions and a fraction of the supper price.

Parking: Parking is fine at lunch time but may present a problem at supper.

Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap parking and ramp

Went Sunday. Was not busy. Took over 20 minutes to be addressed at our table just to get a drink. Food was mediocre at best. Definitely not fresh seafood. People had to complain to get it restocked. Our waitress was horrible. Will not be back definitely no where close to what it was.
