Simply delightful, delicious ,so yummy I recommend everyone to try this amazing ice cream ❤️
We saw a video about this guy who traveled around Florida and went to this ice cream shop in Steinhatchee
Scoops, so we decided to go check it out. When we got there, they were closed, but a sign on the door said to call a number if you wanted ice cream. Don't go by what the time says here. Call them to check their hours. It seems they have seasonal hours. Hubby called, and I texted. I popped into Willy Bob's bait and tackle shop because they were also on the video as having fish dip and some frozen fish, such as mahimahi, yellow tail and triple tail, as well as shrimp and crab legs. They were out of fish dip. So we got some Mahi mahi and decided to just take a drive and look around and we were less than 2 miles away when the ice cream shop owner called us back and said he'd be there real soon.
So we headed back over, and boy, are we glad we did! All the non-standard ice creams have their own names. Some are obvious, but some you have to ask what they are. The man offered to give us a taste of banana pudding. Then he gave me key lime, which was really good, but I wasn't sure if i wanted a whole cup of that. My go-to is usually MINT CHOCOLATE CHIP, but I'm also a big fan of chocolate peanut butter...... so when I mentioned this, he told me he had chocolate peanut butter, but that it also had banana in it.So I asked if I could taste that one. That was FUNKEY MONKEY. I got a cup of it. The chocolate was very, very good tasting. However, I could barely taste the banana or peanut butter. Hubby got a waffle cone of strawberry. We were happy that the guy opened up the ice cream store just for us. We sat there at the counter and ate our ice cream (but didn't take any pictures; sorry)! We chatted with the guy while we were sitting there and had a really nice time. We felt like we were visiting with a friend. We even stayed after we finished eating our ice cream and continued our conversation.
We'd definitively recommend checking it out. The homemade ice cream is great. My hubby said it was the biggest cone he'd ever had, and he had a hard time finishing it - there is only just 1 option for a waffle cone. It is a bit pricy, and I wish they had an option for a smaller sugar or cake cone. There's no option for toppings or for a banana split or Sundae. They also had soda available in cans or bottles. There's parking right in front of the place.
We plan to go back. Next time, we will try different flavors!
We'd recommend you give it a try. We were impressed with the taste of the ice cream and we think that you'd enjoy it too! 😉

Purchase as much of this this ice cream that you can consume before it melts. It is excellent HOMEMADE ICE CREAM! That is hard to find in this country these days.
Delicious ice cream made in house. Excellent hospitality!
Not friendly, overpriced.

Steinhatchee Scoops was a letdown. Instead of a proper menu or a view of the ice cream, they had a marker board with strange, made-up flavor names, and you couldn't even see the ice cream since it was kept "in the back." It felt like a guessing game, which took away from the experience.
The young lady behind the counter seemed disinterested and barely offered any assistance. When I inquired about cones (which were pictured on the wall), she casually mentioned they only had $12 waffle cones—pretty steep for a simple ice cream shop. I just wanted two small, one-scoop servings, and even that came out to $12, which was way overpriced for what we got.
As for the ice cream itself? It was okay, nothing special, but certainly not good enough to justify those prices. The whole experience felt underwhelming, and for the cost, I expected more in terms of both product and service. I won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

Sorry for doing this to a local business but the attitude and operation is a mess. You go in and there’s a big beautiful board of flavors they have to offer, but as soon as you pick from it, they guy just says “you have a better chance of getting what you want if you pick from {this} list” and then gestures to one on the counter with literally NONE of the flavors on the official menu. It’s so soft it melts practically immediately. And what self respecting ice cream company has neither cake batter nor cookie dough? Vanilla it is! 2nd time with this exact experience it’s really surprising they have the stars they do but it’s likely because it’s the only ice cream shop in town.
