Overcharged me at market on a Saturday for 4 pastries for $53.95. This is ridiculous and pastries not that great and dry.
I purchased 4 pastries from the market on a Saturday in November and they charged me $53.95 for them. How outrageous!! I would not buy from these crooks again 😡
I find it disheartening that I can walk into a bakery owned by, at least 10 years ago, people from NJ and of Italian descent, ask if they have struffoli at Christmas, and not one person behind the counter had any concept of what I was asking for, to the point one woman shrieked at me like I said something off color. I probably will try Dunkin' Donuts next year, at least I could expect that type of outcome...
Unfortunately, this bakery is not what it used to be. Adding fillers like chocolate covered pretzels & large cookies in the cookie boxes and not being able to select your own, to the prices skyrocketing and unpleasant staff. We were faithful customers prior to 2021 and just moved back to the area. Disappointing

I was excited to find this bakery when I moved to the area as I love baked goods and breads, but I am disappointed with the quality and definitely the prices. Sourdough very basic, rather no taste, scones and puff pastries tasted like mass produced. I sense they don't use butter much but not quite sure.

$12 for a loaf of bread! You've got to be kidding!! I used to buy their cinnamon loaf quite often. It's very good. But haven't been there in a while. I picked up two loaves of cinnamon bread today and walked out paying $23.98. That's insane!

Owner please read. The type of service that will make you forget a business instantly. We visited this bakery today to purchase fresh bread and were the only customers inside, yet we were ignored until we initiated conversation. When we asked for the country sourdough, the staff member asked if we wanted it sliced. We said yes, and she replied, “thin or thick.” When we asked how thin the slices would be, she repeated “thin or thick” in a dismissive tone. We purchased the bread, but the unnecessarily rude service ensured we won’t be returning.

I have been coming here for the past 28 years. Back in the day it was called “Mr. Bread.” It was my go to bakery, and I went here regularly. A few years ago I wrote a review that was not good. The pastry case had dwindled down to practically nothing, and their counter service was rude and inefficient. In fact, it had gone downhill to the point where I thought they would soon put a lock on the door. I didn’t go back for at least 2 years. It is very evident that the ownership and/or management changed sometime in the past couple of years.
It was nice to see the pastry case full of delectable treats, well organized, and prices on everything. The bear claw is one of my favorites - chocolate and cheese filled, and the best I’ve ever had anywhere! It is actually enough for two people. I’ve also had their apple strudel and sticky buns. Both are excellent, and their quiche is as well. If you like good quality pastries, you will want to give this place a try. Good bakeries are rare.
That being said, their new prices are shocking! Although I now love this bakery again, the prices will keep me from coming here regularly. I may drop in once every few months, as opposed to every week. If the prices were not so insane, I would have given 5 stars.
