Mandatory tip and a service charge is a big no for us, we reserve the right to tip more or less depending on the service. The food is very expensive for the type of casual place that it is. Salad is shredded lettuce with tiny pieces of tomato and cucumber and a mediterranean oil and vinegar dressing. The smoothies are good but again pricey also an upcharge for milk instead of water blend. We took friends and they were also surprised when they got their bill. Flan is dense and flat with a burnt taste, don't recommend it. Almost 100.00 for lunch, we won't be going back

We just ate there for lunch and it was delicious!! Everything very fresh and the service was excellent with a super friendly server . Highly recommend and so reasonably priced!!

I went with my family to have lunch . The place is nicely decorated but the music (merengue or salsa) is really, really loud !! The food was ok , some dishes better than others, but it took a long time to arrive (30-40’). A bit pricey for what you get . The smoothies were very good. I don’t like to be charged a “service fee” and also a 20 % mandatory tip! I think it’s too much !!!

This place is flying under the radar! First and foremost, the customer service is welcoming and answered all my questions about the menu. The beef empanadas were fresh and flavorful. Trifongo with the Caribbean shrimp is my wife’s final meal request, she’s not wrong.

The food was good. My bill included gratuity which I’m totally fine with because I generally always tip 20% or above. In this case the gratuity was already at 20%. I paid and asked for change and was told that was the total with the tip. My total was $85 with gratuity already added and I gave them $100. The math isn’t adding up. I’m not stressing about $15 dollars but damn a $40 tip for a $60 bill is wild to expect that. 😂

My wife and I recently visited Merengue for the 1st time. When we walked in we liked the look and the design of the place. We were greeted immediately and instantly seated. We ordered Chuleta Can Can ( Pork Chop Chicharon ) for 2 with white rice, salad and tostones. Our waitress Vanessa who by the way was awesome and very attentive gave us a free sample of their arroz con gandules. When I tell you that arroz con gandules was amazing. When she brought our food out our 1st impression was the presentation of the food was very nicely plated. The pork chop can Can was very crispy and flavorful. Overall my wife and I were very happy with our overall experience at Merengue. We give you 2 thumbs up 👍🏼👍🏼
