Never again! We used to enjoy Steak and Shake on each in a while, but the quality has been going downhill for years. After this last visit, we never go back. Our burgers smelled strongly of fish and we couldn't eat them. Disgusting!!!

First bite into a steak burger was like an explosion of flavor, bordering on too salty and loaded with grease. The more i ate the worse it got.

The Sundays are delicious šŸ˜‹! The food is good. The prices are reasonable. The environment could be cleaner! After looking in the kitchen, I'm not sure if I would go back. Maybe it was an off day? I'll probably go again just to see.

Prices are great. The butter burger is a no with the butter brushed on the outside top. The fries are too skinny to taste anything but ketchup. Garlic burger is really good. Bring back the truffle shroom burger. Its a no for me

Very little interaction with the staff except when grabbing my food and then later on when I had to get a to go box.
That being said, I haven’t been to a S & S in almost a decade and didn’t really remember or think of how you used to order food there. Okay, touch screen it and then pick a spot…(autopilot), and if you’ve been there recently you know how it goes.
That being said, What the hell was done to warrant a tip? So yeah, obviously not the same as what it once was but I definitely think it’s a sheisty move on the company’s behalf to deliberately ask when checking out if you want to add a tip like there’s an actual reason for giving one.
Look here Take & Brake, you chose to cut costs by eliminating waitstaff/hosting positions, cashiers, etc and now (straight up caught me off guard) asking to contribute money for doing a job that doesn’t pay based off of tips? Bad business etiquette.
They left me my order on their desk and left me a to go box on their desk. They never even have to leave their office.
No reason to go back.

Overall not a great experience. First time here. Kiosk ordering-tip selection, what? When I order myself and pick up myself? Tipping for what service? Had to show my receipt to get the soda turned on. First place I’ve ever been that does that. Burger was ok but fries cold. Next time I’ll just go elsewhere.

EDIT: this steak and shake had gone from sticky floored but still fine to a RIP OFF. every time I go thru have replaced another piece of customer service with a hostile machine.

want to order? kiosk, no cash. And the 'still marked as 4$ meals' are 5.50 with no drink. all while having the gal to ask for a tip.
want a clean table? the sanatizer buckets are out and easier to find than an employee, much less one who is allowed to leave their spot and clean anything.
want mayo? bbq? fry seasoning? peppers? milkshake straw? all unstocked at the self serve and employees cannot refill it because itd involove leaving their drive thru post for 60 seconds.
want a drink? there's a scanner to make sure you arent steal precious pennys of soda from them. which is only a problem because the soda and cups and station is wholely unmanned. oh but that 2.60$ drink only comes with HALF A REFILL BEFORE IT QUiTS. in case you wanted more than 8 oz of drink, or didn't like their weird tasting coke.

OH and don't try speaking to the manager, she's very proud of how ""efficient"" she's made the place. she prolly gets a bonus for keeping those costs so low. hope she uses them on shoe covers, the floors are still sticky.

Listen, the staff was really nice to me (especially the manager), the atmosphere was cool, but that frisco melt might have been the worst thing I have ever eaten. I’m not talking about the taste of the burger. The burger tasted okay. Nothing crazy good or different, but I didnt hate it. What I’m talking about is the after effects of it. Right when I walked out of that building, I immediately felt terrible. I felt nauseous, my stomach felt fat, I was dizzy, and overall, I just felt terrible mentally and physically. I checked the nutrients and this wasn’t an allergic reaction. That frisco melt made me feel sick to my stomach for the whole day. Ever since I ate here, I have had no desire to eat at any fast food restaurants (or just thick meat products). But hey, maybe this presents the opportunity to lose weight because after this experience, you will never want to eat anything fatty again. I’m only giving it two stars cause the manager happened to be kind to me and my friends. Besides that, worst sandwich I have ever had.

In the drive thru ordering our food when my friend said we have a second order. We were figuring out our meals and then got asked to leave and when we asked why a guy walked out the back door threatening to fight me and my friend saying to stop messing around. Then we asked what happened and why and he continued to tell us to go somewhere else and hes not giving us our food. He said ā€œif you want me to clock out i can clock outā€ and continued telling us to leave for no reason. This man needs humbling and some professionalism.
