Chef Rose Jamaican Cuisine

Today was the first time I ordered from this spot, I kid you not, I caught myself do a happy dance after the first bite. The only regret you’ll have about this place, is not eating the food. Do your tastebuds a favor and show mad love to this restaurant.

I drove over an hour to try this place so I had pretty high expectations. Safe to say, I was let down. The gentleman who answered the phone was extremely personable and pleasant which made me excited to try their food. The lady chef was a little rude and had an attitude when we picked up. Maybe she wasn’t have the best day?

Now to the food, the portions are generous but the flavor is NOT there. The rice was slightly overcooked and borderline mushy. I ordered curry goat and unfortunately, I would have to give it a 3/10. It was more of a stew and had more veggies and potatoes than goat and didn’t taste that much of curry. The meat was tender though! I would advertise this as a goat stew and not curry goat.

The rice and peas were such a disappointment! It tastes “off”. Not much flavor and really bland.

The fried dumplings were really great!!! Not too hard and not greasy at all. That was the only thing I enjoyed about this meal.

The food was packaged really well! Would I come back? No. But the gentleman who answered the phone made the interaction with this business better, off of the friendly interaction alone.

The best Jamaican food I have ever tried and i lived in NYC in Harlem and I could honestly say chef Rose is god sent I am currently moving to Naples and one thing me and my wife will both miss from living in Fort Lauderdale is chef Rose food. Every bite is so rich in flavor and you could taste the culture in the food it truly is an amazing experience to eat chef Rose food. Highly recommend

This was the best food I’ve ever had period! I had the Ital stew made fresh to order with grits and it was amazing! Respect to Chef Rose. Not even in Jamaica which I frequent had better food.

Traditional jerk chicken is so flavorful without any dryness. Meat is seasoned perfectly and so tender. Steamed vegetables is a hit too. Portions are big.
