Peppa Seed -Jamaican Restaurant

To Whom It May Concern,
On June 16, 2025, I and my family became severely ill after consuming curry goat and white rice from your establishment. I was hospitalized for nearly ten days with extreme symptoms consistent with food poisoning, including persistent vomiting and other serious health complications. Following my release, I received confirmation from public health authorities that I had tested positive for salmonella poisoning.

During my illness, I made two attempts to contact your restaurant to report the incident and seek accountability. I left a message and spoke with a staff member, requesting to speak directly with the owner. I was told the owner was unavailable but would return my call. To this day, I have received no follow-up, no acknowledgment, and no concern from your team.

This experience reflects a troubling lack of care, responsibility, and professionalism. Food safety is not optional it is a fundamental obligation of any food service provider. The failure to respond appropriately not only worsened an already traumatic situation but also shows a blatant disregard for the well-being of your customers.

I urge your team and the wider food service industry to take food handling and customer safety seriously. People trust restaurants with their health and lives. That trust should never be taken lightly. This was one of my favorite restaurants and I’m disappointed in there lack of care!

This place was recommended to us but disappointed. We went at 3pm on a Saturday and they were sold out of oxtail and only had limited menu items available. Serving staff is unfriendly.

In city saturated with Jamaican restaurants Peppa Seed does a great job of standing out, from it decor, the favor profile of their food and excellent customer service. The dinning room is very clean and a nice place to sit and enjoy your deliciously prepared food. So, if you're in the Lauderhill area on University Dr near 44th Ave in Sun Village Plaza stop in at Peppa Seed.

I was in the mood for curry goat so I decided to give PeppaSeed a try...AGAIN. The last time I had curry goat from them was about a year ago and it was horrible. I took it as a one off and decided to give them a try again. THIS IS NOT IT!! The goat was tasteless and fatty. Even the white rice was bad. How do you mess up white rice?? The only good thing about this visit was the lady who served me- she was polite & the restaurant is clean.

Always out of food around 6:30-7 and so on. And take forever to cash you out. People all around the register talking and dilly dally. Some people have places to go. So lackadaisical. We are not on island time anymore.

I had it for the first time Saturday and it was a DISAPPOINTMENT. I bought the curry chicken and a side of mac and cheese. The food just didn’t taste authentic. They used a seasoning that had a weird smell. The mac and cheese tastes like government cheese, no seasoning just macaroni and American cheese. Inside the restaurant was clean and had a good little vibe, but the food wasn’t good.

Went here for the first time on 7 June 2025. Went to the bathroom and it was very clean, one of the cleanest jamaican restaurant bathroom. The food presentation was outstanding. I had the jerk chicken and it was just like jamaicas jerk. The best restaurant jerk chicken ever. Came back later for some ice cream OMG. The server was customer service orientated she was super. The ice cream was so delicious. Overall 9 out of 10. I will be back and i recommend this place.

I went to PeppaSeed restaurant for the 1st time on saturday. The restaurant smelled amazing..the beautiful fragrances of good food cooked down in herbs and spices..absolutely amazing. The employees seem like genuine nice people, it would be nice to get a welcoming smile from them..but hey its busy and the line long. .I ordered curry chicken foot and chicken foot soup to go..I absolutely enjoyed both meals.. Two Thumbs up for the Chefs 👍👍

Um well I'm so mad the staff gave me an empty food container!! Kidding, I ate it all, down to the bones.

I had a great experience with the staff, everyone was lively. I saw the reviews prior and expected mean staff, but everyone was amazing. I think the people with bad experiences sometimes might start off being rude or intolerable so the staff might not always be AS NICE as they can be.

Oxtail dish was missing SOMETHING, couldn't put my finger on it. I just wanted authentic food to remind me of my granny; maybe I should have gotten the brown stew chicken.
