I travel 3 hrs every weekend to buy food from Sankofa. Philipa and her team are amazing. They provide great customer service and delicious meals that are decently priced. If you’re looking for the best west African food in the state of Florida, look no further. I love their jollof rice with grilled tilapia, banku and okro stew and fried plantain. Try it and thank me later

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. HOW YOU HAVE A BUSINESS YOU SAY YOUR OPENED AT A SPECIFIC TIME NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE?!?! I WENT THERE AND THEY ARE CLOSED? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE. IT'S ONLY OUR OWN THAT DOES THIS. IT'S A SHAME AND TRUST ME THEY DON'T CARE. THEY'RE LAUGHING. YOU WON'T BE WHEN YOU REALLY START LOSING CUSTOMERS.

I came to this place twice in attempt to support my local west African community while giving them the benefit of the doubt with the first attempt being very disappointing. First , this isn’t a restaurant so you have no idea how your food is being prepared or how clean the environment is. 2nd you have to wait in the car just for them to bring your order to you. I ordered Egusi soup with fufu and was given oil instead of soup with the meat being undercooked and tasteless. The picture on the advertisement is different from what is being cooked. No accountability has been taken on the managers part in addition to being met with a disturbing attitude about my criticism towards the food. I spoke with another manager ensuring that I would be compensated with another meal for my experience. Given, that I left a heartfelt review explaining my experience and took it down to actually give them another chance because of the request made by Mr.Marcus.

I come back on a second attempt to order rice and chicken which was decently prepared and a go to meal that I’ve gotten before. Drove 40 minutes across town to pick up my food in sunrise only to be met by the same wicked manager that gave me a nasty attitude. Denying giving me what I paid for and saying she won’t serve me because of the review that I left although I paid for my food. She forced a refund and cut the lines so I wouldn’t contact the business.

Now if this is the way you go about conflict from a disappointed customer, you shouldn’t be in the food business along side your emotions driving you to make compulsive & irrational decisions that will sooner effect to your business. This lady is beyond cruel and emotionally immature & senseless. May God judge you and your wicked ways tenfold. The 5 star reviews left are very misleading and not accurate. I don’t see this place materializing into an entity where people can come in and dine. Customer service by management is awful because of one bad apple.

The lady Manager is rude & emotionally unintelligent. There’s a way you go about dealing with un happy customers. To be in the food business and not be able to handle constructive criticism or feedback is the #1 downfall in the food industry. Jollof rice is half decent. Food in the advertisement photo is different from in person. Lady manager who picks up phone is very dismissive & petty

First time trying African Ghanaian food. I really wanted to try fufu and I found an amazing place.
The place is a cloud kitchen. There is no seating or indoor restaurant. You have to order through their website or third party food delivery app. The maps took me there without knowing those facts but the employee spotted me and took my order right away. She was very kind. She explained me everything. I got chicken pepper soup and fufu. I got sobolo drink. The drink was spicy. I was not expecting that. But it was delicious. The main entry was so good. Perfect amount of spices and tender chicken. The quantity was good. I want to try different foods from here

Sankofa’s Jollof is truly in a league of its own—rich, smoky, and spiced just right. The rice was cooked in a well-seasoned tomato base, often with hints of bay leaf, ginger, and a gentle peppery kick that keeps every bite exciting.

We paired it with fried ripe plantains.It was very Sweet, caramelized edges with a soft center—the plantain adds a beautiful contrast to the spicy Jollof, balancing heat with sweetness in the best way.

And then there's the Ghana-style salad—a colorful mix of shredded lettuce, onions, carrots, and cabbage, often with a surprise twist of baked beans, boiled eggs, and a touch of mayonnaise. It was freshly creamy, and ties the whole meal together with a refreshing crunch.

Whether you’re new to Ghanaian food or grew up with it, Sankofa dishes combo never misses.

I was really looking forward to trying this place after reading so many positive reviews. Unfortunately, my experience did not live up to the hype. I drove 45 minutes expecting flavorful, authentic Ghanaian food, but I was quite disappointed.

I ordered banku with okro soup, but the soup was dry and contained barely any oil. We also tried waakye, which was lacking in flavor as well. Both meals fell short of our expectations, especially considering the glowing reviews we had read.

In our opinion, the reviews were misleading. We genuinely wanted to enjoy this place, but sadly, we left feeling unimpressed.
