The service and atmosphere of this place were decent. The most important thing though is the food and they completely missed on that. The charge way to much for 3 tenders to taste the way they do. This place used to be very good, but has gone down hill significantly.

My sister went and got a garlic burger. There was no beef patty and so she went back and got refund but because she went back the lady talked to her crazy telling her “so there’s no patty” and repeating it and to follow that she wanted to talk to her like she’s stupid and say “our burger are smashed patties” in a condescending tone as if we don’t know what we’re eating and haven’t been there before. It’s 10 o’clock how you messing up this early and then talk to a customer crazy. My sister just kept quiet and waited for her refund and left because ain’t no one gonna argue this early.

This Steak ‘n Shake was my favorite one to visit before Covid. As of late not only has the food quality diminished, but the service is incredibly poor. The cashier was very short and impatient, and the cook was loudly complaining that people need to cook at home. After waiting for my food for about 10 mins, my fries and burgers came out super cold and I apparently paid for a single sliver of bacon on my burger. I don’t see why I had to wait so long for my meal considering that everything tastes like it’s been sitting under an AC vent for 20 minutes. Quality sucks, service sucks. Don’t recommend at all

this place had terrible service. this isnt my first bad review, but after this encounter that I can only describe as idiotic, I decided to leave another. I asked this lady for a large frisco melt MEAL and she goes- “we dont have large frisco melts.” excuse me? That isnt what I asked. I had to actually spell it out to this employee that I wanted a large version of a combo meal they offered. After waiting a century, she hands me a normal size drink. I cannot believe human beings like this exist. Not to mention the attitude she had written all over her face before even opening the window to greet us. Again, totally unbelievable and I cant believe this is our generation now.

The service couldn’t have been better and the food tasted just as good as I remember. Beef was nice and flavorful and the shakes were sweet and weren’t cloying whatsoever.
