Just about what you can describe as a meal, if you have the lamb gyro, but the grilled chicken was dry and not really edible. The salad was okay, but uninspiring. If I could have been bothered traveling I would have gone to Sea Grill for a proper Greek.

I drove up to Haulover beach and wanted to grab a bite before driving home. Since this is an Orthodox Jewish community many places were closed for the Sabbath- like The Carrot. So be aware for a Saturday. We sat outside. We ordered the falafel appetizer. Surprisingly enough, the do NOT have tahini! They served the falafel (which I’ve never seen made in this shape) with Tzakis sauce. It was good.We also had a large side of hummus. I’d hate to see what the small side of hummus is! It was good- a little more chunky than I’m used to. We also had an order of the gyro. It came with a side of Tzakis and a salad. The Tzakis sauce was weird. It had a pink color to it, like they’d added something like paprika. But then it also has a slight sweet taste to it. Not really my thing.Service was ok. We had to go in to ask for boxes and the check.Lunch was a bit expensive. I LOVE Greek food, so I might go back. But if there’s other options, I wouldn’t bother.

Ordered the gyro plate. Meat was way too greasy for me. Restaurante was busy and seems popular. I will try a different plate next time.

The blandest food I've ever had. They served me white rice, which is strange for a Greek place and the tzatziki sauce was just not good. Plus, the plate cost 17 dollars, just not worth it.

The Greek Place has fantastic lunches — the food is fresh, the service is fast, and the prices are fair. It is one of our favorite places. The only downside is that they are in desperate need of refreshing the interior of the restaurant and the restroom looks messy and dirty — not a good look for such a solid restaurant in Surfside. They should start with fixing the sad light in the bathroom ceiling and at least clean up the restaurant so it feels less cluttered and run down. The Greek Place is important to the neighborhood and I hope the owners give it a small face lift just to make it feel fresh!

This is a casual urban cafe with mainly Greek offerings. Two of us had the gyro plate and a mixed grill. Each included a small Greek salad and pita bread and they were plentiful and tasty for $17 - $18 each. Although not on the menu, the waiter offered wine and beer, so we each had 2 modest glasses of house white wine (apparently pinot grigio or sauvignon blanc). Upon presentation of the bill, the house wines were $12 each; literally, they were more than half of the $90 bill! What restaurant with entrees under $20 charges that much for house wine. We did not complain, paid the bill, with a tip, and left. Even though we really liked the food, we wouldn't go back because we feel ripped off.

The service and food here was incredible. I was craving Greek food and happened to stumble upon this hidden gem and it was such an incredible experience. I highly recommend and will definitely be back soon.

Great local place, family owned, authentic cuisine. When in doubt, can't go wrong with the cheese saganaki, spanakopita and lamb gyro sandwich. The staff is friendly and outdoor seating is limited but good for people watching (though traffic noise can get loud at times). Would recommend for lunch if you're in the area.
