Anyone with a food allergy to seafood please be careful. I love this restaurant they sell the best Jerk Chicken Fried Rice. I ordered it recently this week and originally I was shared out a Shrimp Fried Rice in error but I immediately made the man aware that who would be eating it (my daughter) is allergic to the shrimp so I needed the jerk chicken as requested prior over the phone. He immediately dumped out the shrimp fried rice and even took the steps of getting a new container for me. My daughter ate it and 20 to 30 mins later ended up having a serve allergic reaction that ended up her being rushed to ER. Turns out there were three shrimps in her food which one she ingested. Now I know they have a new container and not the one that had the shrimp so the only thing I can think of is that they cook the shrimp and jerk chicken together which is cross contamination and shouldn’t be done because there are some people who if have a serve seafood allergy they cannot even have their food be cooked with seafood. I immediately called the restaurant made them aware of their issue that could have went worst but thank god did not for my daughter. At this time we just prefer to no longer eat there since it seems they are not taking in consideration those with food allergy.

Firstly, I want to mention that I am not a Jamaican citizen but I enjoyed eating jerk chicken. I have visited many Jamaican restaurants in West Palm Beach, Broward County and Miami Dade and today I felt like I won a jackpot because the Large Jerk Chicken Meal that ordered I devoured it like a roaring lion roaming the mighty jungle. I normally would add jerk sauce to chicken but this time I didn't! The chicken was well seasoned with a bold kick that can even impress the late Bruce Lee! I couldn't stop eating even though my stomach was getting full.... The rice and peas were delicious plus the steamed cabbage too! Also, the amount of food that is placed in the styrofoam container would triumph any Jamaican restaurant that you spend your hard earned money. The service was quick and easy without the long lines like Dutch Pot! The ambiance was relaxing and clean and great music can be watched and heard from the television mounted over the beverages cooler. The food displayed behind the glass is refreshing because you don't see food spills on the countertop. The air conditioning can combat any Florida weather. Also, the male bathroom was clean with a fresh linen scent. I didn't take any pictures of the Jerk Chicken Meal because I didn't know that I was going to write a review. P.S. If you're on a hunt for authentic jerk chicken then pay a visit at this location and order a Large Jerk Chicken with Steamed Cabbage....

The food was great!! I had the oxtail rice and cabbage and the oxtail was tender rice and cabbage was full of flavors !! The service was pretty decent and the amount of food they gave was insane!!

Went here for the first time to give it a try and it was horrible. It didn't even taste like Jamaican food. The service was great and they are nice but the food was lacking flavor and it wasn't hot enough. We had the rice and peas, stew chicken and fried chicken. Unfortunately we won't be back.

Good food, clean & fresh. Prices reasonable, customer service great. I have been a regular customer since Carl's seafood was first opened in Lauderdale Lakes. Never a complaint! My daughter and granddaughter (very picky) are now their Tamarac customers. Last Friday night, two items ran out, my daughter waited until they were replenished. During the wait, the manger kept communicating. This should tell it all! Excellent customer service! I would therefore, without hesitation, recommend this restaurant.

CONSIDER The Takeout Customer! Ok, so I seldom want to post reviews that are more negative than not. Her goes. I often drop in for takeout from Carls, I like their food for the most part, however, I have had meals delivered on 4 or 5 occasions and my observation is the takeout consumer is less considered. I have had almost spoiled rice, dried meats to the missing-meats which call to this review: under the lids of a recently delivered large $25.00 oxtails dinner this meat servings would barely satisfy fixings for a small meal
