Char Hut used to be a favorite of my whole families, but sadly it is not what it used to be. Besides the prices sky rocketing, the quality is very hit or miss. I used to always take my nephew here and lately the Burger is always undercooked and the fries not crispy. I can't justify paying 16$ for a subpar burger.

Always great to come here. This is the place that my son ate his 1st burger. The cook took his time to make it his best tasty experience. The food is always delicious, the employees work as a family and the atmosphere brings a meat grill scent that will have you drewling for more then 1 patty. If your on a diet ehhhh still come and make this place your cheat day, Wayyyy worth it.

Vegetarian options: They have a delicious Vegan Burger. Yummmm

Kid-friendliness: They know how to make a kid smile.

Rude young staff. I had to contain myself. I won’t give them my business anymore. Same service u get from any other fast food place. But with double the price.

Char Hut is a FAVE for my family. Their burgers are fresh & tasty. With plenty options for toppings. We go to both Tamarac & Davie location since they closed the Sunrise spot. Definitely a must try! ?

The prices have gone through the roof. $40 for 2 sandwiches and 2 small fries is ridiculous at a fast food place. Especially when the quality just isn’t there anymore.

This place looks like it serves good food juts by looking at it. I was driving by, the name caught my eye, I googled them, I made a u turn. I am not disappointed. Solid char burger! Plentiful fries, could have used a little more cheese though. Regardless I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Will definitely be back.

I used to love Char Hut. I’ve been eating here for years (at several locations), but that all changed recently. It’s amazing how poorly the employees will behave when the long-time managers are away.

I have significantly reduced my red meat consumption due to health issues, so going to Char Hut for one of their famously never-frozen burgers was a long-anticipated treat.

When ordering the Char Cheeseburger, the order-taker asked, “How would you like it cooked?” The burgers are fairly thin, so this is always a funny question from them. I said, “medium.” I get to my table with all toppings as requested, take a bite, and it’s rare, nearly raw. A little over or undercooking is normal once in a while, but aside from the browned exterior, this was nearly steak tartare.

I brought it back and asked the cook to remake it with “a little pink in the middle” since it was not medium and he clearly had a tendency to undercook the food. He took the sandwich, opened it, ripped apart the burger and stated, “That’s medium.” I was shocked. “I’ve been working here for years, that’s medium,” he insisted. I was not about to engage in an argument with a short-order cook regarding the subtle nuances of cooking times and temperatures. I simply but firmly said, “That’s raw. You served me raw meat. Please recook it.” He then threw it away, neither changed his gloves nor washed his hands, and returned to cooking food.

It came out slightly better, but still not medium. I chose to enjoy my lunch and report this to Char Hut management via their website. It has now been two months without a response from Char Hut management. To say I am disappointed with this South Florida icon would be an understatement. I cannot even count the number of times I’ve eaten here with my family since the early 1980s. I’ve always accepted that they’re a bit more expensive due to the freshness of the food and the fact that they’re locally owned without a billion dollar marketing machine behind them.

I sincerely hope Char Hut management takes the comments (positive and negative) of its lifelong customers seriously.

I would love to post a positive follow-up to this!
