Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant

My wife and I are both Jamaican and we know good Jamaican home cooked food. The staff at this location are very friendly and accommodating. The store is bright and clean and you can see good safe food handling practices being done. We had the oxtail with veg and rice and peas. Large portions, tender meat, beautiful flavours, it's as close as it gets to me Aunty cooking!

UPDATE: Had to edit my original review. Went back for curry chicken and there is no flavor, the rice n peas is extremely dry not much gravy to go with it and again no flavor. Only thing good is cabbage.
I called to place my order, the lady who answered said to hold and left me on hold for 4min before i hung up. After a couple hrs i called back and they were out of curry goat, which is what i wanted. I ordered a small oxtail instead, it came with rice and steamed cabbage. The portions are generous and the oxtail was good. Spinach rice didn't have much flavor but cabbage is good.

All I wanted was a Jamaican Patty so I asked the lady did I have to stand in line if I just wanted Jamaican Patty, she said no, but then she ignored me while she cashed out the next five people in line. I never got my Jamaican Patty and I never got served. Customer Service was terrible, she never even apologize.

First time trying Jamaican food at this place and I love it every is so delicious 😋 I had the curry goat. I forgot to take a picture before jumping in 😁

I only ended up here because dutch pot was sold out of food. I encountered an employee named Julian I think that was her name she was an American she was extremely rude speaking under her breath I told her I was unable to hear her she was irritated by that. I told her they either had to turn down the music or she needed to speak up. I asked her because there was one boiled dumping if they had any more she was quick to tell me NO only for a brand new full container to come out I then asked for ackee and salt fish she was about to give me the last in the pot which would have been the scrapes before the manager intervened to let me know if I was willing to wait a few minutes she had a fresh container coming out, I appreciated her level of professionalism, at that point I was done dealing with the first employee. Fast forward to getting home and eating the food the ackee was overcooked and suited for someone with no teeth horrible. If you know your food is not thee best or comparable to your competitors that are close by atleast be friendly welcoming and provide suburb customer service. I will not be returning not worth my money, I know better for next time. My advice to the owners and management do not hire people like that employee who either has an issue interacting with people or has a disdain for Caribbean people because she was a turn off!

Being Jamaican, I am very selective over the Jamaican food that I eat. That being said I can honestly say that this is the only Golden Krust that I recommend. My wife enjoyed the jerk shrimp, and I enjoyed the Salmon. Don't get me wrong, Ackee & Saltfish is still my favorite, but it was late in the afternoon and that was gone. They are undergoing an expansion right now, and I hope they will be here for a long time to come. I recommend them as one of the three Jamaican restaurants I tell people about. I salute you.

So disappointed. Today I bought an escovitch fish with rice and peas and some jerk wings. First the rice was tough as heck, and then the wings had feathers on them. Smh. Total disappointment.
