We are staying at an Airbnb in Tavernier and this was the perfect place for dinner takeout. We ordered a ropa vieja combo meal, a half chicken combo meal and a Cuban sandwich. All portions were very generous and the prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend this place!

Absolutely amazing. Do not miss the chance to get the best Cuban food in the keys. Friendly and accommodating service. Amazing food. We always come here on a keys trip. I see some comments about a microwaved sandwich. I want to be really clear about what I saw. The food is fresh. The Cuban bread is authentic. I did see a microwaved sandwich in use but it was used at a low power to lightly warm the internal meats of the sandwich for a few seconds at a low wattage before the AMAZING sandwich being pressed on a hot griddle. The bread came from a well stocked bread bin. The establishment is a MARKET not a restaurant. I got exactly what I expected. Delicious and clean market food. It’s not stale or old or microwaved. It is an efficient process I would equate to what is likely in a food truck - or you know…a market. But enough about the process. Let’s talk about the food. Hot, delicious, clean and made with love. The absolute best in the keys. Nothing tastes this good. I also highly suggest the cafe con lech. Finally, let me say, I’m white, I don’t speak Spanish. I’m sure I give off tourist, because I am. Every single employee was kind, helpful and accommodating. If you want to go have good authentic Cuban food that is served quickly with love, you need to go to this place. I’m really sad to see people placing expectations on a place that is, exactly what it says it is. Thank you sunrise cafe for serving us every time we are in the keys. We love you. Also parking was great. We come with a small trailer and had zero issues. SUNRISE CAFE AND THEIR STAFF ARE RHE BEST!

We did pick up. We got two Cuban sandwiches, lobster soup and side ceasar. All the food was delicious. I’d say the sandwiches could use a little more mustard and pickles but I’m not sure if that’s just personal preference or not. Definitely give it a try if you’re passing by

Best Cuban Bread in South Florida hands down! The bread is made daily and sold warm & delicious! Their roasted pork, moros & yuca are so tasty. It feels like a meal made by your Abuelita. ☺️😋 I highly recommend trying this gem in Tavernier, Florida.

Great food, authentic Cuban we had ropa vieja which is shredded beef, rice and beans with plantains and yucca. We stopped by for lunch and the atmosphere it’s great smiles around happy people, kid had a huge Cuban sandwich pork ham cheese pickles Mayo mustard and fries all great !! The amount of food for the money it’s perfect, plates are de by big the sandwiches are huge. we took one star off due to the condition smell of the bathrooms I believe if you fix your bathrooms your 4.5 star will convert into a solid 5 start, good food we like this place because is fast food is ready, coffee was over hot or too hot I feel like just a bit less almost cannot drink it for a while over doing the temperature. This was what we were looking for the hours of operation good until 9 pm, and they offer breakfast. Overall good all experience. There was no wait. Atmosphere is quiet you can have a conversation they didn’t have any music playing. You can have a good size good here and they have outdoor seating and indoor. Gluten free folks can have rice and beans yuca and plantains plenty of options. We had our dog in the car we were able to watch him park right in front or have lunch outside seating area.

Very good pork sandwhich and great staff. The place doesn’t look like much but this is a family owned restaurant that tries its best and succeeds.

Awesome cuban coffee as well.
