The staff was very friendly, it is simple inside but the food was amazing, and was well taken care of.

Started coming here before relocating to Tampa. Their food is excellent, service is friendly and prompt. The place is clean and welcoming. Lunch specials are well priced. Sushi is always fresh. We eat here once a week and we are happy to support a local small business.

A wonderfully owned place. The sushi was great and so are the owners. They take the time to care for their customers and the food they serve. Such a great place for comfort food.

I love this spot, my friends and family are regulars here. Small mom and pop authentic Japanese spot where the service is always lovely and the food is always good. Literally nothing bad to say about it except I wish it got more attention.

I usually get shrimp fried rice, while my husband gets various sushi for us. We are obsessed! Though it is a bit pricy, it is worth it for the quality. Normally places will give you few pieces of shrimp and a ton of rice, Tokyo Sushi Bar gives you bang for your buck! We never regret coming here and even make a date night out of here because it's so good.

I really hate giving this low of a review, especially to a place I've only tried once. Let's start with the good.

The hostess was very kind and patient, I didn't catch her name, but i appreciated the short service she gave me. She took clear care to package our order, placing cardboard at the bottom to keep things from falling over. The miso soup was salty but flavorful and had a decent amount of tofu.

As for the bad, the sushi was not fresh. Unless fresh means mushy and discolored. The rice barely held together, the seaweed had terrible texture, and none of the flavors came together properly. There was no spicy in the spicy salmon sushi. The fried rolls were 90% fry batter and rice and 10% meat. All of the rolls we got were embarrassing in flavor and sight. I don't think this is the sushi chefs fault. I think this was a lot of things. Maybe the sourcing isn't the best. Maybe the stuff they want to order is too expensive for their overhead cost. Maybe we got the "leftovers." It could have just been a bad day, too. I know our day wasn't better after eating this sushi.

I am not sure if we will be back. The prices were quite good, definitely the best in town, but take that with a grain of salt.

Update: I have been throwing up for 30 minutes now it definitely tastes worse coming out than going in

$5 for 3 takoyaki balls that were taken out of pre-cooked grocery store bags. No garnish or anything. Just straight from grocery bags... Sauce is from grocery bottles too. Why would I go to a restaurant if I wanted grocery food?!
Even worse, the chirashi was just 14 pieces of fish and rice. This was worse than a sushi buffett.

First time in and we will definitely be back. The range of sushi is amazing and the price is better. From $7-$12 you can find something for you. Clear soup was fantastic and $2! Definitely try this place if you’re looking for good sushi in the USF area.
