Like someone stated previously. All the good reviews are probably from people they know. I also tried the place out due to the good reviews but this place is not worth it. Now I know why the place always looks closed. Better Mexican restaurants right around the corner. Do not waste your money here.

Great food! My man and I came to eat here and had a pleasant experience. The food was hot and came in fast. The place has beautiful little accents that feels like Mexico. The tacos de lengua and asada were amazing. And if you like salsa, they have a delicious red salsa! If in the area, we'll definitely come again :)

I ordered two lengua tacos supreme. they look exactly like a professional photo of tacos. They definitely knocked it out of the park. The service was super fast. You’d think I told them that I was in a rush. Thanks!

What they do well: Ingredients are very fresh and good quality, portions are plentiful. I had a chimichanga and it was packed with chicken. The tortillas are AMAZING and home made. I never thought I would crave a tortilla, but theirs are far more than just a bland food container, they're an experience worth having all on their own. The salsa was the kind without any chunks, just a very smooth tomato puree, and very good. Service was very friendly. The food was great, but just so everyone knows what they're getting, it is not typical of Mexican food in the US, which is really just a matter of taste. They do things the way they and many others like it, and what matters is that they do it very well, with quality ingredients. It's a very modest atmosphere, but also very friendly.

I think there may be some untruthful reviews here. I've seen other reviews that reflect my experience which is that I saw the high reviews and thought this would be a great place....they do not have salsa.. like what??.... the chimichanga is the size of giant chipotle burrito and is filled with plain white rice, some lettuce, shredded unseasoned chicken with some shredded cheese. Served with about a tablespoon of pico.... and thats it!The chips are good but they literally do not have salsa....They serve it with a warm sauce that looks like tomato soup and kind of tastes like it too... Like you can taste the canned tomato paste flavor...its weird.... They do have a green hot sauce that atleast has a little bit of spice to it, but it too had an odd flavor and was not really working that well with the chips or the food we ordered. We asked for some kind of sauce to go with our food (Chimichanga, tacos, and a fajita) and the lady gave us a bottle of some kind of hot sauce that was better than the green sauce but had a smoky flavor and just didn't do it flavor wise.Seemed like a good place but the lack of seasoning and lack of sauce really ruined the experience and we definitely won't go back. A pretty disappointing meal...

The food was AMAZING, visiting from Houston Texas and decided to stop here for a quick bite and the tacos were the best!

Authentic spot with amazing fresh chips, fresh tortillas and spicy red sauce. The prices are super ideal and the service was great. The queso birria was available during the week which was awesome. Horchata was not available but agua fresca de melon was very good. A new fav local spot for my Tampa friends.

I love Ximenas! I can’t wait to come again this weekend with my friends. The only thing is that they didn’t have their liquor license but no worries there’s a place called Gaspars down the street on 56 that has plenty of affordable drinks. U can always take these tacos to go. I wouldn’t eat tacos from anywhere else.

The Taco salad was wonderful! The salsa was the best I had ever tasted.

Their quesabirria tacos are phenomenal! Literally best tasting tacos I’ve ever had in my life. Their salsa is so good too! It almost reminds me of a tomato soup but full of flavor. I would love to bring some home and dip my grilled cheese in it. Highly recommend this place
