The Boars Head Chicken Sandwich was impressively underwhelming — especially considering how it was described. The menu promises Boar’s Head flame-grilled chicken breast carved thick and piled high, topped with smoked bacon and creamy Havarti, finished with house-made chipotle mayo on toasted focaccia. From that description, you expect something hot, freshly grilled, and satisfying.
What I received felt more like a basic deli sandwich.
There was nothing about it that resembled “flame-grilled.” It wasn’t hot. It wasn’t even warm. It was cold — the kind of sandwich you grab out of a refrigerated case. The focaccia certainly didn’t feel toasted. For $19, that’s a major letdown.
The only saving grace was the bacon. It was the one ingredient doing all the heavy lifting.
The “potato dippers” were also a complete farce — calling them fries would be generous. They were underwhelming and didn’t make up for the disappointment of the sandwich.
What made the experience worse was that I specifically asked for no sauce on the sandwich and requested it on the side. The sauce was still left on. I didn’t realize until I had already taken a bite. Thankfully, I’m not allergic — because if I had been, this could have been a serious situation. Instead, I had to throw away the bottom portion of the sandwich and anything that had touched the sauce. That’s wasted food and wasted money.
Between the misleading “flame-grilled” description, the cold sandwich, the unimpressive potatoes, and the incorrect order preparation, I genuinely feel swindled. For what I paid, I could have made this sandwich two or three times at home — hotter, fresher, and exactly how I ordered it.
There should absolutely be clarity on whether a sandwich is served hot or cold. When you’re charging $19, expectations matter.
If I had gone to Little Cafe instead, I’m confident I would have received better fries and at the very least a properly toasted sandwich.
Unless you’re going strictly for the bacon, this one isn’t worth it.

If you like your food hot, the Green Barn and their Tex Mex restaurant is not the place to go. Every meal I’ve had at both come to the table either cold or not cooked like you ordered it. Not worth the money for lukewarm food.

If you enjoy a heavy dose of salt and pepper with your meal, this might be the place for you. We’ve visited several times in the past and always had a great experience—I even recommended it daily to people in the area. Unfortunately, after my visit last night, I can no longer do that. I ordered the Redfish, and the waitress suggested I stick with the sides that come with the dish, so I agreed. When the plate arrived, I was excited to be back—until about three or four bites in, when all I could taste was overwhelming salt and heavy pepper. The seasoning completely masked the flavor of the fish.

How many times does this place needs to your meal? One two or every time. One time they got it right after that it was every time something wrong. To day was under cooked chicken and cold fries, before that onion peel on the sandwich. Top of tomatoe hidden by a piece of lettuce before that salid was choped like coleslaw. I will not be back to this place I guess them more chances then they deserve.

My wife and I dined at Green Barn Prime for the first time last night, and it was an outstanding experience. Despite it being a busy Sunday evening, the staff was both friendly and efficient, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment we arrived. The food was exceptional. I ordered the steak, which was cooked to perfection; tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. My wife had the shrimp and fish, and both were expertly prepared: flaky, fresh, and delicious. We were genuinely impressed by the quality of the service and the cuisine. Green Barn Prime exceeded our expectations, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended!
