Passing through Trenton, checked TA for a good place to eat. TA said this place was #1, I wouldn’t eat at any of the other 9 if this is the best. I’ve known folks from here and most of them drive to Chiefland or somewhere else to eat out. We had one of their specials (roast beef)and there was nothing special about it. They did have good sweet tea. Years ago this place had a good following but I never ate here back then. Probably won’t be back.
This place was Hobos but is now back to being called the Boarding House. The inside is still a train motifs and they no longer have a salad bar or buffet. We ate there on a Friday night and only had a small wait time. My wife had the fried shrimp and they were very good she said. I had the NY strip steak and it was very good also. Perfectly cooked and was severed with three sides. Wine list was about standard but offered variety. All in all we were pleased and will probably be back at a later date.
This restaurant has changed hands again. Complete menu change, no more salad bar. A really limited diner food menu. probably won't return
Nice atmosphere. Sadly that is as great as it gets for today. We arrived at 5:pm way before the evening rush but it took nearly an hour for our food to arrive. The country food was tasty but the all you could eat seafood lacked flavor and selections did not match my requested options. Oh...the Tea was rank with the taste of cigarette residue. Not sure what the root of the problem was but on this evening it was apparent there were problems in general.
Food was OK. Just food. Nothing special. Sides were warm, not meal hot. LIver over cooked. If you know the secret and ask, you get rolls or biscuits with you meal. But you must ask. Restaurant with a long history of name and menu changes. Not necessarily improvements, just changes.
Hobos I must say is not a bad place to eat at all. After church, we all go and enjoy a good meal with lots of laughter. They have a buffet on certain days. The menu prices are reasonable and the service is great. They added an extension I think they have karaoke. It's a clean atmosphere and they will accomodate big crowds.
Very nice place, all decorated with old train memorabilia. The food is very good. I'd recommend anything on the menu. I'd also say don't bother with the weekend dinner buffet, the buffet food can be dried out, but the menu items are always great.
Great place for small groups and cozy atmosphere. Love the train / railroad rustic decor. Staff is always attentive. The buffet looks fresh and good Southern style cooking. Their shrimp platter is excellent as well as the large/juicy hamburgers. One of my favorites is the garlic pasta with broccoli and grilled chicken. Good salad bar that never disappoints.
Great Buffet, good service, good atmosphere, friendly staff, great food.
Best place ever. If you like good food come to Hobos. I have never been disappointed eating here. Great rustic atmosphere and certainly family friendly.

Love the variety of their menu. Its a little pricey but really good.
Been a few different times now, and was delicious every time! Love the rotating buffet option. It was GREAT when my Papa was in rehab at Ayers - he was really craving some fried fish, and Hobo's delivered! Their decor is SO nostalgic and is quite fascinating. Enjoyable place to eat!
The food was excellent! Our server was happy and very nice. He gave us great service. We did not even to ask for more drink. Atmosphere was amazing.
