HOLY ROLLER! I just had lunch at the Trinity “DANG Good Sushi” spot for the first time and… I’m already a full-blown fangirl. 👑🍣

Let Kristy, the condiment queen and server extraordinaire, steer your flavor ship—she nailed the sauce pairing for my Surf & Turf and Pye Road Roll like she was born to do it. Pro tip: trust her. She’s got the sauce intuition of a sushi sorceress.

Now let’s talk vibes—because just as I sat down, I got Rick-Sushi rolled (yep, they actually played Rick Astley), the owner's playlist rolled out hit after hit. 10/10 for tunes while I chewed.

And that Surf & Turf roll? SHUT. THE. FRONT. & BACK DOOR. The filet mignon was juicy, flavorful, seared to perfection but still perfectly rare inside. Wasabi Wizardry!. 🪄

You can feel the creativity and care in every bite. This isn’t just sushi...it’s an edible experience. Nobody around here is doing it like DANG, and honestly? They’re setting the bar while having fun doing it.

Lastly, everyone there was happy! The sushi chef? Smiling. The server? Jammin’. Even the nearby table asked what I was eating. That joy is contagious! I came for the rolls and stayed for the raw-some vibes. 😎🥢

We were in from MS, visiting friends and they raved about Dang Good Sushi. So, we
visited on 07/26, and it did not disappoint! I have a shellfish allergy, so the owner (I believe) went out of his way to modify a roll I wanted and it was incredibly delicious and fresh!! Best sushi I’ve had and I appreciate him, and our very sweet and attentive waitress, going out of their way and taking my allergy seriously. Cannot wait to return for more and hopefully sooner than later!!

Review: A Hidden Sushi Gem That Delivers Big on Flavor and Warmth

Tucked away in an unassuming little corner, this sushi spot might be easy to miss—but once you step inside, the casual, welcoming atmosphere immediately sets the tone for something special. It’s a small place, nothing flashy, but what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in heart and flavor.

From the start, we were blown away by the appetizers and miso soup. These weren’t your standard offerings—they were incredibly fresh and full of deep, savory flavor. The miso soup, in particular, had a richness and complexity we’ve never experienced before. It was comforting, yet bold—something we’ll be thinking about for a while.

The sushi rolls were where this place truly shines. Each one was crafted with a unique twist, many with a spicy flair that brought just the right amount of heat without overwhelming the dish. The standout was the Volcano Roll—a cold tuna roll topped with a warm, spicy seafood mixture that was absolutely unforgettable. The contrast in temperatures and textures was executed perfectly, and the flavor combination was unlike anything we’ve had before. Every bite was exciting and satisfying.

If you’re looking for a relaxed spot with friendly vibes and sushi that surprises and delights, this place is a must-try. It may be small, but the experience is big on taste and hospitality. We’re already planning our next visit.

Happy hour is a great deal. Off the wall sushi. It's not going to be the best you've ever had- but it will be different.

Went here with 2 friends one being Korean very small place. I'd like to believe it was an off night because there was absolutely no ambiance. It was a Friday night. No music in the background. Only had 1 server on, who was 'new', and wasn't checking on us. We returned our miso soups as they were soured. Had a poke bowl with barely any rice and a lot of lettuce. Ordered more sushi and another sake, but they never came. I did notice a roll sitting on the 'takeout' counter. So unsanitary as customers were literally hanging over the food paying their bill. We couldn't find our server, or anyone, to get our bill, so we asked a cook, who said she was in charge. She was unprofessional, rude and vulgar to us. We just wanted to pay our bill and get out of there. The only 2 things I can say were good about this place were the chicken dumplings and the leather chair I sat in. I do NOT recommend.

Cute place with interesting menu options. Service was pretty good, but the food was overall a huge waste of money. We may as well have ordered vegan rolls because the shrimp tempura was all tempura and the tempura steak was a shaving of steak, at best. We paid for rice and a little bit of veggies. We decided to skip our usual place to try somewhere new and it was extremely disappointing.

Came down to visit family and heard “great” stuff about this place so my wife and I decided to stop by. You can obviously tell nobody wants to work there, or there is oblivious beef with each of the employees. Sucks…the concept was really cool with the bar style and especially advertised as a vegan friendly place. I wish management could see the toxicity within their employees and pull weeds. It ruined the experience for my family. Food was alright. Would come again if Emily was nicer to her customers.

We’ve tried Dang Good Sushi a few times over the years, and while our first visit left us excited and grateful for the plant-based options, our second experience was such a letdown that we haven’t returned since.

On what was a rare night out as a family (we own our own business and don’t get many of those), the food was extremely disappointing—dry, chewy, and rubbery to the point that it felt like we were eating leftovers instead of freshly made sushi. It really ruined the meal for us.

The service was even worse. We felt like an inconvenience from the moment we walked in, and to top it off, the server and the person behind the bar were clearly arguing the entire time. The tension in the restaurant was so uncomfortable, it was hard to enjoy anything.

What made the experience worse was reaching out the next day. I was promised a refund by management and never received it—despite following up again. That was incredibly frustrating and disappointing.

I do appreciate that they offer vegan options, which can be rare in sushi restaurants, but the execution and customer service really need work. Don’t serve vegan rolls unless they’re fresh—it only does a disservice to your menu and your guests.

The restaurant itself is small but beautiful I will give them that.
