Stopped by on the way home from Orlando, ordered the super burrito, chicken flautas and steak tacos also rice and beans and (elote)corn in a cup. Everything was fresh, hot and tasty. Highly recommend, will be back again. Authentic Mexican.

We received a gift card and decided to use it. We were able to sit outside in the screened room overlooking the lake which was very nice. The chips and salsa were very good. Margaritas were okay. We ordered food and the taste was not flavorful. I know when you get out of areas like Texas where I grew up people like Mexican food that is not too spicy. Our food had very little flavor to it. My wife and I were disappointed in our food and would appreciate something with a little more flavor. It doesn't have to be spicy and burn your mouth, but at least have some flavor. Not sure we would go back for the food. Maybe go back for another drink on their patio.

I asked for chilaquiles, I do not recommend them, they have no idea how chilaquiles should be. I was very disappointed. I had not visited the place for a long time and I was very dissatisfied

This place has the best most fresh tacos and sauces i’ve ever had , me and my family are obsessed with Don Jose’s. Definitely recommend especially with the great customer service. (:

Great food and gorgeous view of the river. The food and service were good. We looked up online and it said pet friendly.. Once we ordered we saw a NO DOGS ALLOWED sign. We were the only ones on the outside deck. I told the waiter it said on an online site that the restaurant was dog friendly. He said since there were no other patrons outside, the dog could stay. I asked why no pets when it was such a large outdoor seating area. He said pet hair might get in peoples food. Give me a break! That is one of he lamest reasons I have ever heard. Although great food, we do not support non-pet friendly outdoor dining establishments. We travel in our motorhome with our old chocolate lab who has separation anxiety.

This was awfull. We arrived at our table at 7:30. We didn’t have a waiter until almost 8. It is as if they forgot about us. I can understand understaffing, but how about prioritizing drinks and tables. We were offered the opportunity to order at 8:30. We left after the waiter deserted us again. Do not come here until they get their act together.

Very helpful staff. Roland was exceptional. He was attentive, happy and welcoming. Love that the food is always good and comes out on a hot plate! The screened-in porch is delightful and the view over Lake Jackson is beautiful.

Stopped in with friends after day at track. The food and the service was excellent We all loved the salsa. We got at least 3 complimentary bowls. Everybody enjoyed their meals I ordered the steak vato loco which was excellent. Tried the garlic shrimp which was also very good

We enjoy Don Jose and will be back. First thing you notice is the colorful furniture and dishes! It's pretty and so cheerful! Then, the service was prompt, and helpful. Next, the menu... lots of choices, reasonable prices. We've enjoyed everything we've eaten there. We've been back 3 times and will be again!

Prompt service. Margarita was delicious, (in a slender glass). Food was a little dry. Asked for cheese sauce in lieu of the salsa. Enjoyed meal with friends. When the bill came, there was a 8.50 charge for the cheese sauce, which wasn't relayed to us when we asked for it. A little steep for a small dish of sauce.
