Has gone down in past months. Out of baked potatoes, sweet potatoes, coconut shrimp. Took over an hour to get seated. Only 10-12 people eating inside that didn’t have food when we got there. Took 2 hrs and 20 min to be seated and eat. Hostess needs some customer service classes. Can’t get menus, placemat or silverware all in one trip. Took her 3 trips before seating anyone. Wasn’t like they were very busy. Not again. Will go elsewhere from now on.

If you love good shrimp, this is the place to go. Not fancy (it doesn't need to be) but good food! Off the beaten path, which is so nice.

This used to be one of my favorite places to frequent however after this last experience there I won't be back. Renovation job looks great however you check your prices up so high it's actually unbelievable especially when I pay $27 for a filet mignon that was supposed to have been medium rare was way over cooked the first time that it was completely dry. I asked the waitress to take it back I would like a replacement the second steak came back barely seared it was so rubbery you couldn't even cut it that was that bad and actually disappointing for the family member who I brought in there to try your food in the first place. And I realize you have changed some of the recipes but your coleslaw tasted like it had gone bad and was sour I relayed that message to the waitress but she seemed rather young and quite nervous at the steak incident.
I should have gotten a picture of the first steak but I didn't before it got sent back. I did however get a picture of the one they sent out in exchange for the one they severely overcooked medium rare on the steaks teacher Cooks how to cook

I got the senior pork chop meal with a side salad. It was very affordable and tasty. My husband got the Philly cheese steak on white bread with Cole slaw.

I have been getting the fried porkchops at Shrimps for almost 5 years. I get the 2 porkchop dinner with 2 sides and usually add a 3rd chop. Last time we went that 3rd porkchop now costs $7.50. You can get the meal with 1 chop for $12.50 and with 2 chops for $16.00 for a $3.50 difference. Jacksonville area restaurants that serve fried chops charge a max of $4.79 for that third chop. Ridiculous.

Potatoes were cold the dinner roll was as if they literally just took it out of a bag and put it on the plate didn’t even try and warm it up. Also had fried green beans absolutely uneatable definitely frozen bag green beans. When we told the waitress it was our first time and I was disappointed with the food. Her response was. “Oh would you like a box” I sad absolutely not.

Update: First review was three years ago. Since then, it has changed hands. It's $10 for a hot dog on the child's menu. I guess that reflex where they're gonna get the money from to pay for all the renovations. Bartenders In the tiki ba, at the time of my next visit were slow to respond and did not acknowledge us. Most of the food that i've had recently has been previously frozen and pretty bland. But like I said, it's very expensive and lackluster in my opinion. Last visit met I met with friends inside the restaurant. The Sandwich was good and the waiter was great!
Love the crab balls and gator tail...everything I've had has been delish. Sending some love to Ashley and Laurie...hard working bartenders and friendly.

We had another great dinner at Shrimp R Us. If you're around, you should definitely check it out.
My family and I ordered a bunch of stuff like the seafood platter, blackened fish Reuben, fried gator tail, and country steak. Everything was cooked just right, even the sides were on point. We were so stuffed, but we still took home a slice of chocolate cake, cheesecake, and carrot cake. They were gone before I could even take a picture. It felt like eating homemade food.
*The gator tail portion was small for $24 (silver dish)
