We have been making the 1 1/2 hour trip.to this place for over 7 years.We loved the food, drinks, people and atmosphere. We made the trip over last week and what a change tiki bar has been turned into a fake tiki bar with garage doors as windows. I always order the crab stuffed shrimp , mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans Everything came out and looked so good but when i bit into the shrimp it was so salty i could not eat it. They sprinkle it with some awful.paprika colored stuff. They ruined it. My husband had the special which he said was ok but nothing like it use to be, our guest had the same thing as me and also could not eat the Shrimp. I had a Margarita, our guest a diet drink and my husband two beers. Bill came to 75 dollars. The stuffed shrrimp went from 13 to 19 and change. The atmosphere and the food has been ruined. The bartender which served our food was nice enough but more interested in talking to two men there and never came back to see if i would like another margarita. All in all yall went from my favorite restaurant and bar to someplace i don't care to go to again. Very sad and disappointed

We have been eating at Shrimps for 15 years at an average of twice a week. There are many things that have changed since the take over. On the positive side the food is still good and thank goodness for Laura, Sue and Terry. They are the BEST.... BUT, the prices are ridiculous. The conch fritters used to be $5.95, but are now $14.00, the fried green beans appetizer is $9.25, and $10.25 for fried onion rings,...really??? Swai, one of the cheapest fish around is $22.00 with two sides and the swai fish sandwich is $15.75 ...Come on.
The newest and most ridiculous practice is that you now have to ask for a cheap knife. I use a knife every time I go to a restaurant, i.e., cut my burger in half, spread mayonnaise, cut my salad, and one and on.
I hope they make it, but The People are all talking about these ridiculous price increases.
