This is my staple! I have lived in this neighborhood since 1979! No better place to go for Cuban food! Yes even better than Versailles. My favorite is Bistec empanizado (breaded steak). And when I'm away, this is exactly what I crave! The steak is thin, the breading is Cuban cracker meal, it's fabulous! The steak is also HUGE they usually have to fold it over on the plate. I get it with maduros (sweet plantains) and white rice. Their white rice is bomb! BTW nothing here...

Typically, when I come here the food is quite good, though the last time I picked up food to bring home. A Miami sub and a cuban sandwich. I was disappointed. The bacon on the Miami sub was mostly raw. I had to remove most of it and it was just plain sloppy. My parents who had the Cuban complained that the meat was dry.

I went with a friend just to try the tamale in a casserole, it was exquisite accompanied with tostones or sweet plantains and a huge portion of avocado, I will return to try other dishes
