my girlfriend and I ate here on a sunday morning, and the food was exactly what we had been craving. i got a grilled cheese with tomato bisque, my girlfriend got a vegan burger with a couple eggs, and we shared the apple pie which was absolutely delicious!! i didn’t catch our server’s name but she was delightful, and their outdoor patio is nice and very shady.the decor / atmosphere inside was also very true to the diner aesthetic. overall great experience, food, and service.

Love this diner! The decor is super cool, working train at the ceiling, stuff everywhere, a trip back in time. We sat at the bar by the tabletop juke box and cakes and pies and enjoyed chatting with the waitress. They have the classic diner food and much more unexpected items like escargot.I am getting hungry just thinking about it and want to go back.Kid-friendliness: Cool place for kids

This was a fine lunch. City Diner is small and unimposing. From the exterior, it looks like a very small "old-style diner." We went at an off-hour, around 3:30 in the afternoon. Of course, we were seated right away (on their patio) at that time of day. I had a burger and fries, which is sort of my usual. The burger was fine. It was served with lettuce and tomatoes, which were very fresh. The fries were very good. We really didn't get a good look at the interior until I went to pay the check. It's kitchy and kind of fun looking, and nothing really special about their decor. One thing I did notice was their freshly baked pies. They looked wonderful. There was an apple pie, which must have had five pounds of apples in it. Seeing that made me long for the days when I could have gluten, but those days are gone. I'm sure it was as good as it looked. While not extremely memorable, it was not a bad place to go.

Lovely spot with great food, cool setting & theme, and friendly staff. I would come here again for breakfast when I'm in the area. They have a lovely outdoor area. Get their early because parking is limited and the place is a hit! Service was fast and friendly. Also, the interior looks like you traveled through time - what character the place itself is!

This place has been in decline for years but I gave it another chance. I regret it. Ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and the chicken was dry and tough without flavor. Came with a "wedge" of lettuce that was huge and had to be removed from the sandwich. The tomatoes were icy cold and the few pickles were old and mushy. The tacky mini bag of ruffled chips was insulting. Service was pushy. And, for this, I paid $16.93 including an undeserved tip. Never, never ever again!

It's taken me 7 years and at least 10 meals at City Diner to give it up for good. For at least half those meals I left unsatisfied but I continued to go back simply because of the great location and because - well - it looks like it ought to be good! Even Super Man favors the place - he's in the phone booth outside the door. And the interior looks like a place that serves great food. But no. Breakfast is a big attraction. But this was my experience today. I ordered 2 eggs over medium, bacon, hash browns and white toast. I was served in less than 10 minutes and I should have known. Except for the eggs - cooked perfectly and served hot - everything else was pre-cooked and not cold but obviously had been sitting in the kitchen for a while. Potatoes and bacon - over cooked and not much taste. Toast was cold. Service - forget it. Wound tight waitresses. I got a cup of coffee shortly after sitting at the table. Same waitress was back within minutes with the food. Never saw her again. And City Diner will never see me again!

Great atmosphere, Great service, Mediocre food. Using higher grade ingredients will improve this place greatly.

I was introduced to the C Diner by a friend from PB. We had many breakfasts and lunches there over the past year - all good with substantial portions. But lately, we've chosen to try many of the Entree Dinners such as the Roasted Duck and Lamb Chops - both excellent and much better than experienced at many of the high-priced restaurants in Palm Beach! If you want to "be seen", PB is the best venue but if you want a fine dinner at a very reasonable price (i.e., Rack of Lamb for two at $70) visit the City Diner. And you don't have to pay extra for veggies (such as a bowl of creamed corn for $18 at the PB Grill). Enjoy

In an ordinary street corner sits city diner. Set in and the fun begins, kitschy decor is everywhere!! The staff were all pleasant and enthusiastic, a good sign they enjoyed working there, our food was pure diner and delicious. Portions were fair and prices reasonable. This was an off the cuff decision for us and we weren't disappointed, unfortunately we were traveling so I doubt we will be in the area again but we do find ourselves there, we will surely stop in again.

Great spot. Menu has everything you would expect and some stuff you wouldn't. Breakfast is great. Had an omelette with chili and cheese. Chili seems to be made in house and has great flavor. Others had salmon scrambles that were amazing. Definitely will be going back to try lunch or dinner.

I just honestly had one of the most amazing breakfasts in a long time. It was a simple omelette breakfast, home fries and toast, and I added a side of corned beef hash with coffee. Every single item was cooked perfectly, the coffee was great! The weekend is starting out great already
