As a West Palm Beach native, I remember this being a bait and tackle supply & I think it was better then. The stuffy, rude blonde at the front was enough to make anyone never want to enter this highly overrated hole in the wall full of 24-year olds likely not spending as much as a group of successful 38-45 year olds. Much to the blondes surprise all 8 of us ladies were placed on the list by the owner prior to arrival. I’m still not totally sure what the hype was about. I mean the DJ was playing music from the 80s. The best part about the entire night was the security guards who were kind and personable! Espresso martini lacked and all staff needs to visit the Breakers for a class in customer service. Best of luck.

If you enjoy bad vibes, you’ll love Mary Lou’s.
Looking for a side of attitude with your mediocre meal? You’ve found the place. The owner, Topher Grub, could write a masterclass on how not to treat customers — rude, short-tempered, and about as welcoming as a brick wall. The food tastes like an afterthought, and the atmosphere feels just as cold as the service. With so many wonderful restaurants nearby that actually make you feel wanted, Mary Lou’s stands out only for how unpleasant it manages to be. If misery had a dining room, this would be it.

Whimsical, creative and sexy!!! My husband and I grabbed an early 6 PM reservation like two geezer’s. it’s how I like to do a new place, we had it all to ourselves for 30 minutes. We had such a fun valet experience than moving onto the hot chick at the door who took us right in super cute. Love the aesthetic. It’s all about the aesthetic. It’s a fun hipster vibe. Thank you so much that we have an infusion of youth and something a little bit different in our ZIP Code. I’m so glad I got to hit it preseason before it’s a total scene, but I did book my December reservations in advance. my husband and I had the octopus, the pizza, the french fries and the beat carpaccio with that goat cheese Brulé out of this world. I did have an adventurous fun little watermelon cocktail, but then I steered back to my normal dirty martini scene and they do an olive Avenue, which is to die for. It’s small. It’s loud if those things turn you off please stay on your side of the island and keep your room at the bar for those hot sexy leopard print dresses that will roll in.

Great place, great music and vibe, courteous and attentive staff, but drinks quality is far from premium.

Mary Lou’s itself is a cute, cool little spot with friendly staff trying hard to keep things moving. Unfortunately, it doubles as a hunting ground for leathery Palm Beach relics in pastel pants, circling like it’s debutante season all over again. If you enjoy people-watching, it’s top-tier comedy. If you came for actual nightlife, beware: the old WASP crowd treats it like a country club mixer with Botox and bad intentions.

I politely, patiently waited at the very busy bar for a drink. Finally a kind lady grabbed my order. Another bartender mistakenly took my order for someone else’s and went to the bartender processing my order & demanded my order to be cancelled which it then was. Considering I had been standing there kindly for an extended period of time, I was blown away at the pettiness of this young man. A clearly inexperienced individual. After expressing my frustration to him over the unnecessary debacle and my unfortunate canceled order, he had security flash their flash light at me at the bar, further exacerbating the situation. I’ll never spend a dime here, I suppose them canceling the round for me and my 5 friends was a blessing. Adios- much rather place my money anywhere but here.

Don’t waste your money. Horrible customer service.

Probably the most disappointed I’ve been in a long time celebrating our wedding anniversary. We made reservations, uploaded our picture as asked, and confirmed the special date. That all was pointless. Food was ok, cocktails were very sub-par, and atmosphere was meh. On top of that they added gratuity without our knowledge (for a two top!). I tipped 20% without realizing. $150 for an app and a couple cocktails. Will never go back or recommend.

Mary Lou’s is well on its way to not only being a West Palm Beach staple of nightlife, but a staple of South Florida nightlife. Lindsay at the front door is lovely and charming and very accommodating. You have to understand in coming to Mary Lou’s that if you just show up at prime time on the weekend you will get turned away, it is very cozy inside and can only accommodate a limited amount of people. The food is great but what really keeps me coming back is the music. For a night of dancing there is no better place in my opinion. If you want to avoid what some of the negative reviews on here say, show up early. Especially if it is the weekend. I am so happy to have Mary Lou’s in the neighborhood and hope they are here for many years to come!
