I was really looking forward to some good Jamaican food, but this place was a huge letdown.
The food was honestly terrible. Everything tasted either overcooked, bland, or just not fresh. I’ve had Jamaican food many times before, and this didn’t even come close to what it should be. The chicken was dry and flavorless, and the rice and peas were mushy with no seasoning at all. Even the plantains were off—somehow both soggy and burnt. It tasted like old oil.
To make things worse, the service was slow and disorganized. Not to mention the rudeness and attitude. It took forever to get our food, and when it finally came out, it was just horrible.
I hate writing negative reviews, but this was such a disappointing experience. Definitely wouldn’t recommend it, and I won’t be going back.

I was NOT impressed with the food. We ordered the large oxtail and curry goat dinners. This is NOT Jamaican food! Absolutely NO seasoning on anything. The cabbage didn't even have salt or pepper. The service was decent and the ambiance lacked luster. It's a small establishment with little AC. Definitely not anywhere to sit and eat. I'll pass on this place next time!

Visited this restaurant today 7/15/2025 with my niece who is here from Texas. We ordered a large oxtail, rice amd peas and steamed cabbage and a large curry goat, white rice and steamed cabbage. We were hungry and what a disapointment. The large was more like a small. Both dishes lacked flavor. Steamed cabbage was boiled and had no flavor or seasoning. Shameful to call this a Jamaican restaurant. We will not have a return visit.

I ate the oxtail and festival, and the two together were absolutely amazing. I definitely recommend both, as well as their jerk pork or chicken. The food was great, and the warm atmosphere makes it even better. A must try in south Florida.

This was my 2nd time ordering from Mr.Macks, the 1st time was on Uber eats and 2nd time in person. I must say I will continue to come. The food is excellent big portions of food, the customer service is excellent. I just left from there with my mother and the personal experience was great! Thank you

I'll never give this place 5 stars. Brooklyn native I'll always be biased..but this place always serves clean food that tastes good. I'm used to the jerk man on the corner in the summer with hard dough bread, so I'm picky. Food is good, not the best jerk ever but good. Blonde haired woman who is the owner is a sweetheart, reminds me of home. Good enough place for Jamaican food in Florida
oxtail is too expensive to not cook it right, these the most dry and flavorless oxtail i have ever had, so tough smh. Mac and cheese wasn’t baked just boiled noodles and cheese literally and rice and peas was ok at best

Decided to order some breakfast from them using Uber eats I specifically chose the brown stew chicken and asked for banana only because I don't like yam or dumplings, tell me why they sent me the food and it was rice and peas with brown stew chicken I was PISSED if you don't have what I asked CANCEL the damn order. and then on top of that the chicken smelled so bad luckily, I did not eat it the smell was overwhelming, so I sent pictures to uber, and they refunded me my entire amount that I paid.
