Celebrated our anniversary here last night and it was amazing! The service was top-notch, the food was chef’s kiss, and our waitress Ashley was the sweetest—so attentive and kind. No complaints at all. Highly recommend this spot, and we’ll definitely be back!
During our brief stop for lunch en route to the airport, we were delighted by the exceptional service we received. The staff was not only efficient but also genuinely attentive, ensuring that our experience was seamless. The menu offered a diverse selection of thoughtfully curated meal options, each showcasing high-quality ingredients. The portions were perfectly balanced, providing just the right amount for a fulfilling and satisfying lunch.
Perfect food perfect setting, perfect service.
One of my favorite stops in the area hands down. Great Staff! Great bang for the buck. Old School Cool!
After 75 years in business we wrongly assumed the food would be great; it wasn’t!! The meat was tenderized and of poor quality and too expensive for what it was. We will NEVER return! The service was SLOW!
We were a half hour early... They sat us right away even though it appeared to be busy. Ashley was amazing! The only thing I regret is crusting my steak. Get your steak as it is! Thank you, Ashley, for great, attentive service!!!
Horrible experience, the worst customer service imaginable. Prentious, pompous management, food is nothing you can't get at the other higher end steakhouses. See my full review on google.
Extremely good New York Strip, perfect cook, flavor amazing, Caesar Salad perfectly made. Ambience super nice. 100% recommended ...!!! @procanela
I’ve been on a great Steak House quest lately and when I saw “oldest steak house in Florida,” I knew there had to be a good reason. The term “old school” is certainly apropos for this iconic establishment. Met 3rd generation owner Ralph Lewis and he was proud to give us a personal tour before we ate. He is as humble and delightful as he can be, and the pride he has in this restaurant is palpable. It was obvious from Richard, our server, that we had stepped into the lost art of customer service. Not sure I’ve enjoyed such a tremendous experience since Justin at Peter Luger in Brooklyn. There were three of us and we all started with French Onion Soup, which was off-the-charts. And I had to have the bone-in Rib Eye. I’m looking forward to breakfast so I can finish the rest of this masterpiece. Add this place to your bucket list. You’ll thank me.
The T bone steak was melt in your mouth delicious. Thought they really tried to make the night special for me and my wife. Next time we are up this way.

We have been here a number of times and always have enjoyed the service and atmosphere, no change to that on our last visit but the food was an issue. The steaks are very expensive and frankly not worth the money, my lettuce wedge had brown edges and our baked potato was cold, not what you expect for the prices, unfortunately Okeechobee is not on our list to return.
We love Okeechobee Steak House because dinner always feels special, so we bring friends for birthday, anniversary, going away dinners as well as our own special occasions. This recent visit was particularly interesting because we brought a friend who happens to be a waitress in a fine dining restaurant. She too was impressed with the food as well as our Guest Experience Specialist, Wendy Seale, who remembered us and chatted a bit. Since our guest was new to the Steak House, Wendy focused her steak presentation on her. Our friend told us how important it is to connect with your table whether it's their first time or a repeat guest. She thoroughly enjoyed the experience as did we.
Our waitress was super helpful from ordering dinner to selecting a red wine. The atmosphere was lovely and the service exceptional. Thank you.
Ok I just have trouble believing that this meat is prime sorry. Maybe it was the optional added crust but idk. Meat was chewy. Mashed potatoes had no visible seasoning nor butter. Only butter served was small pats for bread. Bread also meh. I think food is better at Outback and that is atrocious at this price point. Also SUPER irritated at seating. Came for my long booked reservation only to be told only tables were in the bar??? What??? Also why oh why ruin the sweet taste of cream corn by adding meat to it. I get it you are a steak house. But it detracts from the flavor. Not everything on my plate needs steak flavoring. Even dessert was bleh. Won't return. Actually Lewis Prime out in Lox I had a much better meal than this.
Get a paying job if planning a night here. BUT...having said that, many would find the level of excellence WORTH the costs. Steaks to perfection. Only disappointment was the horseradish crust ordered for a gigantic pice of cow was not hard and cruchy. Much more like a thick sauce. Tasty, but not a crust. Pleasant, perfect service. Enjoyed the escargot, but it came with interesting little puff pastry hats over each cell but not very good for dunking the nice butter-garlic. Just ask server for some bread. Valet parking.
