Love the place. The music was way too loud in the restaurant area for comfortable dining and talking with friends. With all of the pluses that choice is a mistake to try to liven up the whole level of the hotel, creating an ambience sourced with loud music originating in the dining area.

Was a great vibe. Prices are way too high but food is great. Can't be $20 for a bowl of oatmeal.

Very disappointing. Service was ok and accommodating for several errors with our meal. So when does a hamburger automatically come with cheese? Apparently here which was corrected quickly however our meals, everything for the three of us was lukewarm at best. The truffle fries had been remade and hot but not a scent of truffle oil anywhere. Substitute has been made that differed from the menu without any mention of a switch. For the few tables that had guests you might expect better attention but clearly not the case. The place is beautiful but not sure we will return for a fine dining experience.

My swordfish was two quarter inch fillets vs one half inch slice which would not have been as dry as it was. I ordered two appetizers , the lobster bisque and the shrimp and crab salad , both were excellent but unfortunately came out at the same time followed almost immediately by my swordfish. I ate the soup fast as I could while it was hot but had leave my salad till after my entree. My wife ordered the fillet minion and also had to eat that before her shrimp and crab salad. When the waiter saw everything on the table at the same time he was surprised and apologized.he

The room is exquisite and our service was excellent. The food was lukewarm and just so-so.

The ambience and beauty of the place are definitely a plus. The service is very good; however, the quality of the food has declined over the past few months, while prices have increased. This was our third visit, and we probably won't be returning anytime soon.

Excellent food. Staff was friendly and very attentive. Pricey but for a special occasion it was worth it

The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the food was amazing. We loved the ambience and our waiter was exceptional. Ice skating before dinner was so much fun.

This was always a top choice for lunch and dinner until now.
The level of service is amazing if all you expect is apologies for terrible service.
Arrived on time for reservations for 6 in the family for dinner.
There was no great reason for not being prepared for us. We had to wait for a family of 10 to leave and the staff bused the tables and rearranged them for us to get seated.
The service was fair. The timing of the bread, appetizers and meals was a disaster.
We had to make a request for the bread after 20 minutes.
Lobster bisque was lukewarm and I sent it back. 15 minutes later it came back not much warmer.
The chicken pillared was a mediocre meal at best.
Medium rare strip au poive came out medium.
The new menu missed the mark over all previous experiences.
The only reason for not getting a worse rating was that the manager did his best to provide a half dozen apologies for the lack of response from the other members of the staff and terrible service.
Not on the go to list any longer.
There are too many great restaurants in the area to settle for horrendous food or service.

Located at The Ben in downtown West Palm Beach, this restaurant should not be missed. The service was great all around. From the valets, to the doorman, to the hostesses, and our server, everyone was friendly and gracious.

We ordered the Truffle Frites Au Fromage as an appetizer, and were blown away. The fries come with a Gruyère fondue that you can pour over tlhem. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside. The nuttiness and sweetness of the cheese will make you reevaluate all of your prior cheese fries decisions. I had the Pastrami Spiced Pork Chop. It had good flavor and was well cooked. But the Red Cabbage Mostarda that it came with melted in my mouth and I couldn’t get enough

For dessert, we ordered the Carrot Cake. It had bits of pineapple and some candied nuts sprinkled on top and was served with some spiced whipped cream. This slice of cake may change your life. In my opinion, it’s one of the top desserts Palm Beach County. It is delightful

I know that this is a long review. But hear me out. We went on a Saturday night in December There’s ice skating across the street, there’s Sandi the Christmas tree within walking distance, and a lot going on downtown right now. More people should’ve been at this restaurant. For a place this good, there should not have been as many empty tables. Was it dead? No. Were there patrons at the bar? Yes. But more people need to come and try Proper Grit. The service is great. The vibes are immaculate. And most importantly, the food is delicious

Nobody served me and my husband we saw other customers get served but we were invisible to them and they acted like our business wasn’t important. We waited over 10 mins and nobody came by to even ask us did we need water . It was traumatizing so we left . Literally I hated this place and how shallow the waiters are . Awful experience! Bad service especially if you are black or Latino . Nasty condescending attitudes. Don’t spend money with this place when it is so many better restaurants and vibes .

I ate there on Saturday and it was fantastic. The presentation was great, the food was delicious and Our server was top-notch. The restaurant is beautiful within an awesome hotel. I didn’t stay at the hotel, but I would love to one day as a staycation. They even had high tea and that looked fantastic too
