The Blind Monk has always been a local favorite that I don’t think always gets the recognition it deserves. It’s connected to a residential tower, so it probably doesn’t get as much foot traffic as the spots over on Clematis (although almost everyone who lives there probably eats at Blind Monk).

I wasn’t sure since there were mixed reviews but both times I went it was phenomenal. The bartender I had the first night was a server the second night and she was amazing to watch. And apparently she makes the chocolate cake, too! The second female bartender was also amazing with great cocktail stories and suggestions. It’s clear they enjoy their jobs and I thought the food I had was phenomenal! Someone said about getting lukewarm food and both nights my pasta was so hot...
Absolutely phenomenal! The food wasn’t just good—it was superb. The pork chops might have been the best I’ve ever had, cooked perfectly and bursting with flavor. The oxtail pasta was incredible—rich, tender, and cooked to perfection.
The only thing that fell a little short were the French fries, which were a bit underwhelming compared to everything else.
