Thank you to everyone at Japan Inn. We were there last night for my son's 17th birthday and we all had a blast. Every employee was perfect from the host at the door to our teppanyaki chef to our waitress. Our waitress was the perfect “coordinator” and was incredibly attentive and responsive. We went home stuffed to the gills AND had leftovers. Great experience and the teen was very happy!! Thank you.
Food was delicious and chef did a great job. Service waa terrible. Way overcrowded. Boiling hot. No menus. Couldnt find server to get drinls refill. Had to wait half am hr for table, despite having reservation.
Overall A good place, food was good chefs interaction was good. Waitress was good but pushed "upgrades" way too hard. And I suggest you ask how much the special is before you order it $$$. The one thing that bothered us about the hibachi experience, was not really the chefs fault but the other family at the table had a small child and asked if he could keep the flames small. Then when he started to make his onion ring Volcano all the way at our side of the grill. They told him NO flames at all so he stopped and chopped it up. That is part of the show, that is why we pay higher prices for some fried rice and shrimp. For those families there are many places to get a good meal with no fire.
We've been regular guests at Japan Inn for the past two years and have always enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. Unfortunately, our visit tonight was disappointing. We politely asked the chef to use only a small amount of garlic butter due to my husband's cholesterol concerns, but were initially told that it wasn't possible and that “this is how the food is prepared.” This was surprising, as our request has always been accommodated in the past. After some clarification, the chef reluctantly agreed, but then proceeded to add so much soy sauce to all of the food that it became overly salty and nearly inedible. We were disappointed tonight and hope that it was a one off experience.
Edgar was extremely awesome!! Had wonderful customer service, very interactive and funny. We had a great time with him as our server.

Edgar was an amazing cook! Made us feel very welcomed and even allowed us to try the cooked meat to make sure it was up to our preference. Added his personality during his cooking! Couldn’t have asked for a better chef

Robert was amazing — super friendly, attentive, and just had great energy. You can tell he really enjoys what he does. He honestly made the whole experience way better. I definitely recommend this place if you want a great Asian food experience
My filet steak was over cooked in the hibachi order that I requested medium rare. There was no red or pink in the meat. The female person that took our order lied to my wife about her order. My wife wanted to share her meal with her friend that was with us at dinner. My wife was advised that there would be a $10 dollar up charge for sharing by the woman that took our order. Instead of the up charge, the woman suggested that she would SAVE us money by splitting the order into two plates for my wife and friend. My wife was charged for two full plates, much more than the $10 up charge.
