What a great place to enjoy food and great micro beers. Sit outside, enjoy the food, drink and a nice cigar with a bonus of music on the stage.
Closed and all the weeds and grasses grown up
We went out to Backyard Barn Winery & Microbrewery today and it was closed. When I messaged them they states that they are not open at all at this time and will be sure to make an announcement when they re-open.
The winery is closed with no visible signs and nothing noted on their website!!!! Website should definitely be updated before people take a ride out there only to be disappointed!!!
Took a ride out there today after reviewing the website and Google and it appears to have been closed for some time now. Too bad they didn't update their website.
Great find. This place is off the beaten path out among some cow pastures in the country. The restaurant portion is a quaint building with nice decor and great character. They often have live music inside and/or outside. Outdoor seating includes oversized patio chairs and enclosed campfire with seats surrounding it for the cool weather months. They have corn hole games available for use. Now the Food... the menu is limited, but everything on it is great. We usually get the pizza and wings. Pizza is gourmet, kind of like you would find in a specialty restaurant. Great beer on tap, they have a wide variety of craft beers that changes with the seasons. Overall a great place, especially if you're looking for something new and out of the ordinary.
Found this winery on a goggle seach and headed out for a nice Sunday ride destination.Found nothing but overgrown property. Apparently business closed. Disappointing.
Love this place! Great for a casual evening of music and great craft brews.
Went out on a cloudy (no pool=sun) afternoon to see what it was all about. Lots of outdoor seating (you can also bring your own). A nice selection of snacks and sandwiches, a stage with music (not loud, so you can still carry on a conversation) and the beers were very, very good! We've sampled lots and many beers all over the country and this was just a pleasant surprise. Dog friendly, they bring water to the pooch.
Went this past weekend with some friends for our first time. Cute spot, nice atmosphere. Staff was not as friendly or engaging as we have encountered at many other wineries/breweries. They were not rude, but they certainly didn't try to engage or talk about what they offer at all. NOTE: prices on their website are NOT accurate and they don't actually have the same things that they have listed on their site either. Most of our group is more into wine and we were a bit disappointed to find that they didn't have the fruit wines that were listed on their website. The regular wines were all ok - nothing that I would buy a bottle of but they were not bad. The meads were pretty bad, most of us could not drink the mead at all. The strawberry mead tasted more like nail polish remover or paint thinner than mead. The beer was actually pretty good though. They had a chocolate mint that was pretty tasty. We also ordered the pretzel platter (warm pretzel with cheese sauce, sliced cheese and meats) - this was very good. Overall opinion: nice setting/atmosphere. Good beer. Good pretzels. Muh wine. Not good mead. Mediocre staffing.

Went to Backyard for the Slush and got there around 4:20 (opens at 4:00). My wife wanted the slush and we were told it will be another half hour until ready. We asked 4 times for a slush in an hour and a half and got the same answer - not ready yet. How do you open at 4:00 and NOT have wants listed on board ready for your customers. And then place on top of that when my wife went up to ask for the 4th time if ready or not the girl asked if she paid for it. Why would we pay for it if we didn't get what's not ready? We didn't like her attitude and never did get an explanation as to why the slush was never ready. We left after nearly 2 hours and my wife never got anything to drink, since the slush never was ready. Not going back again.
Beer was very good, but wait staff was rude. The new girl was great, but the other was terrible. Told me "That's how it's supposed to look" when she poured me a 2/3 glass (after settling) of their $7/pint beer. I'm very familiar with beer on nitro...not impressed. We made this spot a destination, and probably won't be back.
Staff seemed rude and apathetic. Ordered chips and dip to munch on, but 45 mins still not there. Was told they do tickets as they get them in and it’s an hour wait for food. Logistically this place is a nightmare with the food service and the bar service. The beer and wine were mediocre. Asked for a refund and left. Won’t be back. Lakeridge winery is a much better experience for their festivals.
For those folks looking for a unique experience, I recommend the Backyard Barn! My wine club had dinner there last night. There were 10 of us - we made reservations a couple of weeks in advance so the staff was prepared for us. The food was excellent. I highly recommend the Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza and the Mac And Cheese Gouda Bites! Thursday night is Bingo night. We all had a blast!!
Friday night. 8:15, want to order some wings and pizza. Nope. Kitchen closed. Friday night. 8:15. Close at 11:00. Stop serving food 2 hours before bar closes. WTF. Kitchen closed. Really??? Come on. Never coming back. Will tell all my friends too.
