Let me preface my comment by saying I was born and raised in the hospitality industry (my parents owned a family restaurant), and I learned that service can make or break a restaurant, regardless of the quality of food. And that is precisely what I hoped this morning when my wife and I had breakfast at First Watch. We walked in and were immediately seated. The server asked if we wanted coffee, and shortly thereafter brought us coffee. We inquired about the specials and selected to split a Bacon Parmesan Hash. While we sat waiting for our meal, we each had a cup and a half of coffee. The meal was served and our coffee pot was empty. The server just gave us the meal and said nothing. She wasn't rude, but didn't ask if we needed anything else. The hash was outstanding, maybe the best I have ever had, but it was salty, and I wanted more coffee or at least a glass of water. We finished our meal and waited ten minutes while three servers chit-chatted at the front entrance (where the cash register is) and never acknowledged us again. I understand delays when restaurants are busy, service can be slow, but this was not the case, as there were plenty of servers. My wife went to the restroom, and she said she'd also like water, but our server paid no attention to us. When I walked in and felt welcome, I felt in a giving mood and, because it was the Christmas season, wanted to leave a nice gratuity. But after waiting for my wife to return from the restroom, I got up and walked to the front counter, without a bill. Immediately, as I got to the register, a bill was shoved in front of me, and the server said nothing. I did pay the bill and told the cashier the tip was at the table. I left nothing! Needless to say, I was a little upset. When I got outside, I examined my bill and noticed we were each charged $3.99 + tax for coffee. Over $8.00 for two and a half cups of coffee. I know times have changed, but I remember my parents selling coffee for a nickel a cup. I realizedtimes have changed from 1954, when that's what my folks charged for a cup of coffee. But going back to my why rating, it's only three stars. The food was excellent (but salty), and the service is why I will not return. I don't blame the server as much as I blame the lack of management supervision in the dining room; that person needs to assume responsibility for what happened.

The staff is professional and from! The restaurant is extremely clean to include the restrooms. The food and prices are wonderful! The location is close to our home . We will definitely return!
