Food was cold, tortilla chips were stale, portions were small for the price, and tacos were doused with onions and not much else. Not planning to go back.

This place is insanely expensive to be serving such bad food. I will avoid eating here from now on and recommend anyone else do the same. The free salsa was more like a drink than a dip with how much liquid it had. It was impossible to scoop any substance into the chips because of that. Like, besides liquid, I was only able to find three pieces of minced onion in there, and I had to dig around in the container for it. I've never had salsa that watery; it was worse than what you can get at a grocery store.Everything that could be overseasoned with black pepper was. The chips, the refried beans, the mild green hot sauce—all were forward on black pepper and lacking in other flavors. I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that uses that much black pepper. We ordered a chicken burrito to share, and it was $12.50 (cash price—it's MORE expensive paid with card), no sides (!), and it was on the small side. It was also very bland, and doctoring it with the accompanying mild green salsa just made it taste like black pepper. The chicken was a big disappointment; I could feel the texture of it in my mouth but it was so bland that I couldn't taste it.On a technical level, it's nice that they give free chips and salsa. But when your salsa is that bad and your prices are that egregious, maybe nix the freebies and focus on raising ingredient and recipe quality. I literally watched a party be seated, receive chips and salsa, and then leave shortly after they tried it. And while I'm not sure what put them off, I'm willing to assume it was the very low quality salsa combined with how expensive entrees are. That'd be a major red flag to me, and I would have left at that point as well were I not a part of a large party.Be aware that they charge a 3.33% fee if you pay with card.

Service was so poor tonight. Only taking cash, and claimed wifi was down however the waitress was walking around with a hand held device to put order in. Curious how this works when wifi is down… When we were finally helped 15 mins after sitting down we were told that they were out of half the items we came to enjoy….No wonder this establishment is never busy. It unfortunate as the Birria tacos are absolutely wonderful.

We stopped in for lunch. This place changed hands and everything else. We went in and the got rid of all the booths and packed it with tables. It's a one page laminated menu. It's very expensive for Williston. The old Mexican place there was very good. And very reasonably priced.they had better salsa also. The beef they used in the fajitas was so tough you couldn't cut it with a chain saw. On the other hand the rest of the food was very good with good presentation. I would eat here again if they're still in business and was in the mood for Mexican and didn't care about spending thirty bucks on lunch.I would just order the chicken fajitas my son got them and they were very good. A friend got the 4 street tacos and said they were very good but over 20 alone and another got the Casadias and it looked great. Our server was the same one we had from the old restaurant and she did a great job. There's not many restaurants in the area but I think we'll probably just make Babba Ques restaurant our regular stop. They have a great salad bar and always have a hot bar to go with it. We can get in and out of there for under $20 with a tip.

Lo Cocina Taqueria is the local Mexican restaurant in Williston, FL. It was the go to place for my parents, and the first place my dad and I went to eat over the Thanksgiving holiday. The restaurant has seen its ups and downs, and has changed hands a few times over the past few years according to my dad. I've seen some of the poor reviews and while those may be warranted in the past, we should always go in with an optimistic attitude. This visit was one of those that ranks up among the best! La Cocina Taqueria is housed in a small building in Williston right off of US27. Parking can get tight but is within walking distance from anywhere you do park. The interior is what you would expect from a Mexican restaurant, bright and colorful. Dad and I sat at a table and perused the menu. I landed on steak fajitas, and margaritas were a must. My fajitas came out on a sizzling plate along with all the accoutrements. Red and green peppers were mixed in with the plentiful onions, and a pile of meat. I've read other reviews where the reviewer said their food was bland. I have no idea where they were coming from because my food was very flavorful. The steak was seasoned well as was the rice and the refried beans. Now, lets talk about those beans... they were hands down the best refried beans I have ever had period. The smooth and creamy but also had whole beans mixed in. What made these refried beans the best was the addition of Mexican oregano. Yes, you read that right Mexican oregano. That oreagno gave the beans a depth of flavor that was incredible. I could have had the beans as a meal and I would have been happy and content. The margarita's are very good and a always a necessity when eating Mexican food. I hope these owners make it and continue to provide the community of Williston with great food. They are nice and helpful. It's all about local businesses and you should support La Cocina Taqueria.

Stopped here after diving at Blue Grotto. Will definitely come back! We enjoyed the tacos - carnitas, barbacoa and shrimp - corn tortlllas with traditional onions and cilantro only. They were on point! The flavors were great. Looking forward to trying the pineapple salsa next time.

Over priced. Order arrived without sour cream and guacamole. When we told our waitress she said it was on top of order, but Not true. Also, not the cleanest of restaurants either. We won’t be going back.
