Not a horrible place, not fantastic, but has potential. Arrived at 755 with an 8pm reservation. Had to wait about 15/20 min to be sat. Ordered drinks and stuffed mushroom appetizer. The drinks were eh, but the stuffed were truly fantastic and the absolute highlight of the mean. We ordered dinner, and because it is made to order, it takes approx half hour for food to arrive (as it clearly stated in the menu).
I had ordered the chicken parmesan. I was disappointed to say the least. The angel hair pasta was overcooked and had no bite (was sort of mushy)... The chicken park was overcooked and very tough (and a darker color of the meat where I even suspected it was veal instead of chicken). It was very chewy (which is not how you'd want a chicken Parm). We had plans after dinner so I did not alert our server of the problem (as I wouldn't have time to wait for it to be remade). I acknowledge that by not telling them how disappointed I was in the dinner, so they didn't get a chance to fix it or "make it right"... But also it should have not been so very overcooked in the first place.
The service was nice, and the host was friendly and also checked in with us....
Others at my table did enjoy their seafood dishes.
To summarize, fantastic app and service. Just be careful what you order for your entree.

Terrible watery drinks, mediocre food, slow and inattentive service. When the time came to pay our bill it was a torturous experience. Go to any other restaurant nearby.

Had a wonderful experience last night at Chef Nate’s celebrating an anniversary. The food, atmosphere and ambiance was perfect. And our server Brian, went above and beyond taking care of our large group. He made recommendations which were wonderful. Plus he constantly checked in on our large group. He did a fantastic job.

I want to like this place, but both times I have gone it wasn’t good. Tonight, Chicken Parmesan was burned and almost inedible. Bartender was okay but not very welcoming personality. Carnations in front of me in vase on bar was full of green cloudy water as I ate. Bar counter was not clean. Just no attention to detail. Won’t go back.

I had the prime rib meal and was dry. Crab cake appetizer was very disappointing. Cakes very small and not chunky crab meat. Mostly filler. Cranberry compote for crab was not a good combination. My boyfriend had the chicken parm. It was overcooked and dried up. He was unable to eat it.
I’ve lived in this area for 5 years now and my first time dining at Chef Nate’s. It will definitely be my last. Go next door to Ethos as it’s way better.

Terrible place to dine, the waiter was not very friendly. He always had a very bad face and was always rude when serving us. I left all the food because it was very bad.

Chef Nate's offers a cozy restaurant interior and outdoor seating along with a bar that spans both inside and outside. The service staff is friendly and responsive.
The food though ranges in taste from okay to no so great. The baked onion soup with good with nicely crusted cheese on top and an abundance of onions in a tasty broth. The artichoke spinach dip in a bread bowl was good and plentiful. The turkey burger was adequate and satisfying enough.
The fish and chips was extremely disappointing -- the fish was way overcooked and extremely dry. When I told the server he stated most patrons say the same thing and he never recommends the dish. Lesson - At Chef Nate's ask your server before ordering any item.
The $65 rack of lamb was into the well cooked side of the requested medium. They offered to bring a new dish if we could wait 25 minutes but we had an event to get to so instead they took off 50% of the cost after we turned down the offer of dessert on the house. Lesson - Chef Nate's you should have not charged at all.
Overall, the dinner at Chef Nate's was adequate but I doubt I would be rushing back. They do say their prime rib dinner (market priced) is excellent when available, but we did not order.
