This newer upscale modern yet authentic Italian restaurant is exactly what this open airy spot was designed for. Giulio is a master in at his craft and with Lorendana behind the bar and Giancarlo in the kitchen you can not go wrong. fresh ingredients everything from scratch will remind you of a traditional Italian meal. Also there is a nice outside section for alfresco at its finest. Will return and highly recommend

First and Last time; it was really that bad.

We're middle aged locals, not high maintenance however with a sizable disposable income. We eat/drink on the drive at least 3 times per week.

Saturday night at 7:45 with a reservation.
Place was not busy and now we know why.

Only 4 inside tables occupied and they tried to sit us at the worst one in the place?
Place is new but decor looks very dated/80's. Table scapes look Greek?
Our server seemed unfamiliar with the very basic menu nor was he attentive.
Ordered two apps and two entree's.
One app came out with the 2nd 15 minutes behind.
Entrees took another 25 minutes.
One entree was something else that we didn't order.
Our server was slightly argumentative until he acknowledged putting in the wrong thing.
Another 20 minutes and we finally got our food.
No grated cheese was offered.
Pasta was totally flat/unseasoned; veil and sides were covered in salt. We ate what we could because we were starving.
No one ever check in on us or offered anything for the mistakes made. Not even an apology...
Totally disappointing experience and not returning.

A great choice if you’re looking for a more upscale ambiance on the Drive. I’ve visited six times—mostly during peak dinner hours, but also during quieter periods while sitting at the bar—and the service has been consistently excellent. The staff is always A+, and bartender Loredana is especially welcoming and friendly, making every visit feel enjoyable and relaxed.

We got the Spagetti Carbonarra tossed in the cheese wheel. The service was slow and I had to ask for them to put it in microwave because it was served cold. We each were served slightly less than a cup of pasta. We ended up have to get more food somewhere else because we were still hungry.

First time here since it opened. Read some reviews that were negative which ranged from the food, service and atmosphere. Take any of those comments/reviews with a grain of salt! The interior design is streamlined but welcoming and warm. The service is excellent, Sonny our server was friendly and professional, great knowledge on the food. The wine selection is varied and very good selections, the food was excellent, delicious and substantial. The dessert was delicious, we had the mango pie, it had a fantastic flavor with a berry ganache and mango bits that made it heavenly. Loved this place and it is definitely a return visit, very happy with the experience!

I had dinner at Salvo with a party of 5 . Nice atmosphere- food was good . The service was horrible ! I came to the restaurant and there was no host . I was ignored until I asked for a table. My waiter took forever to even ask us if we wanted drinks and I had to wave him down and he finally brought us bread with no plates . When everyone was done ordering , he then never picked up the menus . Another staff member just dropped the utensils on the table and I guess expected us to set the table . I then asked him to please set the table. The table was not set for 5 . I had to constantly wave down my waiter to ask for bread , plates or a fork . I then asked the waiter to take the menus off the table . I am not sure what is happening But Salvo needs to train these waiters and the staff . The waiter was kind , and I understand things go wrong but I could not believe how HORRIBLE THE SERVICE WAS . Another staff member was clearing the plates and instead of saying excuse me to get the person to pay attention - he loudly said HELLO which is rude . I like the food , great atmosphere but the entire staff needs better training ASAP. It’s a beautiful restaurant but was more than disappointed with the service . I live in the neighborhood, I hope they do better service on . Training is an easy fix - Hopefully they get better training . Hope to try again to see . Maybe we just got an inexperienced waiter. Not sure waiting for a response from the owner .

I lived in Rome for about twenty years, in the Trastevere area, which is a neighborhood filled with the classic Roman osterie. I still carry those flavors, those memories, those unforgettable atmospheres with me especially in December, when every light would bathe the city in that warm orange glow, just like Rome’s beautiful sky.
So for me, a Roman osteria is Rome. It’s not just a matter of taste; it’s the taste of memory.
Because of that, how could I resist the temptation to walk into this Salvo Roman osteria, even if it’s set in a landscape that has nothing to do with Rome?
Well, I did give in, and I went with four friends and I have to say, the memories came rushing back. I tasted a cacio e pepe almost identical to the one I used to eat at Augustarello in Trastevere, fritto di calamari, and fish carbonara, my friends had risotto, fettuccine, lobster and everything was excellent. So whenever nostalgia hits me, I will come back to this restaurant.
Inside it’s beautifully designed, the dishes are prepared with great care, and the staff is refined—especially the Italian staff, because Italians are dear to my heart.
And my thanks go especially to Giulio: he’s a guy from Rome as well, who lived there for many years and now works here. Besides being kind, he brought back those unmistakably Roman ways warm, open, familiar that make you feel at home.
For me, this place is incredibly important.
The food is absolutely excellent.
Anyone who has been to Rome or lived in Rome needs to try it to believe it. And for those who haven’t lived in Rome or been to Italy, this is a wonderful chance to understand, and get a small preview of what Rome will offer you when you finally go.

The food was outstanding. The octopus carpaccio set the tone right from the start, delicate, bright, and soooo good. Totally unexpected to be as good as it was. The burratina was silky and aromatic, paired perfectly with the thinly sliced prosciutto. And the tableside cacio e pepe was an absolute show stopper.
But as good as the food was, it was Roberto who made the experience unforgettable. Even with a full house, his service was attentive, warm, and effortless. We never felt unattended, he seemed to anticipate everything before we even asked. Greatly recommend. Salvo has brought back to this locale the great restaurant experience missed since the days of Galanga.

We had a wonderful dinner this evening at Salvo. Excellent service and a delicious meal. The mussels and clams appetizer special was subtle and superb, and our saltimbuca romana main course was excellent. The in-house made tiramisu was delightful. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. All in all a splendid evening.
