I had the vegan brekkie sandwich with potato wedges and it was delicious. Whatever the kale was dressed with was fantastic, the bun was great, and the whole thing stayed together well. The potato wedges had a great (but heavy) seasoning on them and I don’t believe were deep fried (weren’t crispy) which is a plus. The also offered 2-3 pastry/sweets type options to go with your coffee! A bit pricey, but if you’re looking for a treat I recommend. Updated from previous review on 2026-03-04

I stopped drinking my latte to leave this review. I am currently drinking the best chai tea latte that I have ever had. I highly recommend this place, and the muffin I just ate was delicious as well.

The New General really does feel like a different one compared to most spots in Winter Park. I like minimal and modern aesthetic style. Super clean and fresh food as always! The owner is super empathic and kind. We love this local place and always support them! Thank you for the casual but authentic place.

We’re big fans of New General Café here at Atomic Barber Co. It’s the kind of spot where quality, design, and hospitality all come together effortlessly. The food is clean and creative, the coffee’s dialed in just right, and the overall vibe makes it a go-to for meetings, solo recharge sessions, or treating the crew.

We’ve brought team members and clients here more than once—it’s always a hit. Their commitment to sourcing and presentation mirrors what we aim for in our own shop, and that level of thoughtfulness never goes unnoticed.

Proud to have a place like this in the neighborhood. Keep doing what you do, New General.

First time visiting and overall it was a pleasant experience. The atmosphere was nice and welcoming, and the staff member who took our order was very friendly and took her time explaining the drink options, which we appreciated.

We ordered chai and matcha drinks — both were good, with the chai having a nice zest to it. The avocado toast with eggs and bacon was great, and the lemon poppyseed muffin was delicious. The tiramisu pancakes, however, weren’t our favorite. We found the flavor a bit bland, and the cream topping made them soggy rather quickly.

Unfortunately, we didn’t realize the pancakes contained nuts, as the menu didn’t mention it, which led to a food allergy reaction for someone in our party. This cut our visit short and resulted in an unexpected trip to the ER. When we informed the owners, they did offer to comp the pancakes, which we appreciated, though the situation left us feeling a bit unsettled overall.

We might consider trying it again, but we’re still debating whether the food is worth the price point. In hindsight, it ended up being the most expensive breakfast we’ve ever had.

Love everything about New General! The food is always so clean, perfectly delicious and presentation is over the top! Loads of healthy choices... almost ALL! And their house made granola is the ultimate! Also just have to say... employees have worked here for a long time which speaks volumes, this day and age especially!

“Vegan options” is an exaggeration. Ordered the Mexicali Burrito with tofu, and it was straight up only lettuce. Incredibly disappointed with this place considering the price.

We picked up a Buddha Bowl as part of our AmazingCo mystery picnic. Tasty but it was definitely a kale based bowl. We would go back again.

Absolutely no parking. Place is way too crowded and small. The food overall isn’t worth the hassle. Super long waits

New General is a VIBE y’all. We’ve been coming here for years, and the food offerings, quality and portions are always fantastic. My personal go-to is the Buddha Bowl and I add chicken to it. It’s one of the healthiest things you can get near Park Ave and absolutely delicious. The service has always been great and the interior is super cute and modern. They have grown very popular in the past couple of years, so I might recommend stopping by during off hours since they are a fast-casual restaurant and don’t take reservations or anything. We’ve people study and work from here, too. Come check them out and support local. You will love it.
