The experience at The Chapman should not be missed. The menu is creative and varied, which means I have to come back because my first choice was delicious and tender. We came for lunch, and everything served was of the highest quality from the Crab & Lobster Roll, Florida Fish Crunch to hamburgers cooked to exact requests.
Their cocktails are a fine way to get started, the Blueberry Barrel smoked was a great presentation and quite tasty, I had 2
Our server Lucy was upbeat, adept and attentive. Chef Scott and Chef Marco came out to check on the meal and were amiable. I often find that restaurants with chefs that are down to earth, exacting and positive have kitchens that produce wonderful food, The Chapman is such a place. The manager Alex also came by chat with us and check on the meal. We were impressed at his local knowledge, and we loved hearing the story of how The Chapman came into existence. Managers set the tone for a restaurant and Alex is professional, engaging, and clearly has high expectations as evidenced by the food, the cocktails, the atmosphere, and professionalism.

My lovely wife made the reservations for my birthday and these folks rolled out the red carpet. I had to go find a parking spot which was tricky on a Saturday night. But when arrived I was spoken to by name and taken to my table next a beautiful Christmas tree by a large window and my table my gorgeous wife with her back to the window. They gave me a birthday card signed by everyone working in the restaurant. When the food arrived it was one of the best Ahi Tuna and the steak was amazing. The whole time Derick who was our waiter kept us entertained with great information on the food and amusing stories about his life. He was fantastic and so was the restaurant. Pleas go and enjoy.

Our BFF Holiday lunch was one of our best @The Chapman on Park Avenue in Winter Park, FL. Parking issues that can happen on the Avenue don't happen here as they have dedicated complementary Valet parking along the north side of the restaurant. Our server Ava spot on during our visit! By that I mean she was familiar with all the dishes and specials. As BFF's do, we both ordered the same thing...FL sourced red grouper filet, light panko with house made citrusy light mayo, crisp greens on warm baked bun, a choice of veggie, salad, crisp fries or soup of the day. Soup it was tasty sauteed mushrooms in a richly flavored but, lite cream broth. There was a common mistake in plating the soups, Both were lukewarm to taste but, hadn't separated in the bowl. The mistake I mentioned was likely that a cold soup bowl was used to plate the warm soup creating a drop in temp when eating. The soup itself was so flavorful, we declined to return it for a warmer version. We were really enjoying our overall visit and even ordered dessert. I learned that Chef Scott Copeland was creating lunch service and knew that he takes great pride in working with the best of ingredients! The dark chocolate Valrhona creation was dense and creamy...likely flourless with actual chocolate shards spread across the top. I had the Citrus Meringue pie was excellent and either of our deserts were sized to share.
During our leisurely lunch we shared a bottle of bubbly and can tell you the wine selections are good but, as the location supports prices seem a bit excessive. That will not keep us from returning!
Pro tip: I love sitting in a booth in The Chase Lounge as hearing each other is much easier that in the Main dining area. There is also outside under eaves seating with tables and casual soft seating for pre dinner cocktails.

My wife and I had a fantastic dinner here tonight(12/27/2025). We had the lions mane mushrooms, bread, and crab cake appetizers to start. All appetizers were very good, especially the crab cake which is one of the best you will have. For dinner I had the filet which was excellent and my wife had the bucatini which she said was very good.
My only negative is we went to dinner to celebrate a birthday and nothing at all was done by the restaurant to make it a special evening. This was very disappointing considering they brought up the birthday when we were seated.
I would 100% return for dinner again, but I would never plan a special occasion here based on how this experience went.

I couldn’t even enjoy my dinner because we were interrupted by the manager Alex yelling at a poor old woman. I’d be scared to work for him as a woman.

I left in the middle of my dinner service because the manager Alex yelled in my face. He hates women standing up for themselves.
the service at the chapman is genuinely great. the staff is attentive, friendly, and they work really hard. but the manager really brings the whole experience down. he talks to his employees in a way that feels disrespectful, and he’s condescending toward customers too. it’s uncomfortable to watch, and it affects the vibe of the place. i hope they address the management issue because the team deserves better and the restaurant could be amazing without that negativity.
We had one of the best dining experiences ever here. Firstly, our server was Lucy, and she was very knowledgeable and trained to perfectly present bottle opening/pour- which is hard to find these days. The food was incredible. We ordered several items to share and were impressed with everything. the wine-cured anchovy on Cesar, Focaccia, hot honey carrots, and a roasted mushroom dish stood out for small dishes. The Florida Grouper and Wygu for mains were perfectly executed. We had so many dishes going, and another server/bus boy named Isiah was so attentive, yet perfectly timed, that we never sat with an empty dish and carried on personal conversations without interruption. Well done!

If you’re looking for mediocre food and rude management this is the place for you!
Had dinner reservations at 6:15 and didn’t get sat until almost 6:50. Everything took FOREVER. Kitchen seems to have lots of issues. From timing, poor quality, temperature, etc.
Drinks were good and Thomas at the bar was nice while waited for our table. Our server was okay but we did have lots of issues so they did the best they could. Not their fault.
Management was very off putting. At first wanting us to just promote the restaurant and “spread the word” which seemed weird. But then once we had some complaints he was dismissive and seemed annoyed. Seems like a lot of people have a problem with the GM.
We won’t be back. I believe they’ve been open almost 1 year and they still have a lot of issues to fix.

General manager is extremely rude and condescending. I could never dream of speaking to women that way.
