me and my husband both ordered the chopped pork plate with Brunswick stew and when it came out it was ice cold told the waitress she brought us some more and that was ice cold as well they had no cole slaw my husband ordered the baked beans he said they were not good at all Jds has really gone down hill

Ordered the 2 meat combo with the smoked pork and brisket. The brisket was extremely dry. They doused the meats in bbq sauce to cover up how dry it is. Also ordered Brunswick stew was watered down no flavor. Fried okra was extra salty. Mac & cheese best thing they have on the menu.

Y'all really shouldn't be trying to force a tip on an online order. The fact that your website automatically added the tip 2x and I had to remove it is a problem.
I was told by the server it's bc the bartender's handle the to go orders. If I'm doing the order and making sure it's right, and I'm taking care of the payment and your employee has to do is carry it from the back of the restaurant to the front, there shouldn't even be a request for a tip,
Your food is great, your location is great, but that whole online order trying to force feed a tip is bull crap

I got the brisket sandwich, my wife got the pulled chicken sandwich. The brisket was dry, chewy without much flavor. Chicken sandwich was tough and dry, with descent flavor, however the bun wasn’t fresh. It wasn’t busy, yet it took over 10 minutes to get our beverages. They use real wood to smoke with, but it’s soooo hard to find good bbq anymore. Yes, I’m a bbq snob.

We will definitely be going back! The cutest building, great service, spectacular hushpuppies. The spuds will forever be a craving.

This was my first hot meal in 5 days post Hellene and I was really hoping to get some great bbq, but overall I would have to say I was disappointed. Let's start with the main item I ordered, the JDs smokey spud, a 1 lb baked potato "loaded" with butter, sour cream, cheese and bacon bits and chives, and meat of your choice. Let's address first of all the "loaded portion, butter was non existent, sour cream was sparse, chives were barely noticeable and I couldn't tell if there were even any bacon bits on it. Now it was covered in melted cheese, but the worst factor was that the cheese had obviously been applied,and then the whole potato was microwaved! There was obvious burnt/overcooked cheese inside the container and the cheese was very plastic like. Any bbq joint that resorts to using a microwave instead of a salamander or oven should be ashamed of themselves! The brisket on the potato was dry and chewy, I could not tell if it had been microwaved as well but I suspect it had.
The side I got was the spicy collard greens, which were actually good, not over cooked and mushy, although I usually prefer vinegar greens these were quite good.
The dessert was peach cobbler which was good as well but nothing special.
Overall I would call JDs a disappointment and will not be returning if this is the quality of food they serve.
