The best bbq. Pulled pork and brisket are perfectly cooked, sauce is perfect.

Ribs are awesome. Cooked competition style so they don't fall off the bone but allow you to eat them properly with a small tug to remove the meat cleanly from the bone. Brisket was good with ample bark. Pork was shredded and there wasn't enough bark for my taste. Sauces are Georgia style and have just enough heat, but doesn't overpower the flavor of the 'que. It was worth the trip.

Drove thirty minutes to this place and they were sold out, got there one hour before they closed.
Food is amazing
Best BBQ around. Astounding ribs & pulled chicken. The coleslaw is out of this world. Finished off by a light lemony delight (lemon pound cake.) A must try if you’re in the area. Worth driving out of your way for!!!!!

The ribs put me in a choke hold everytime! The piece of cake that comes with my plate is so moist and flavorful. I love dining here when I get the chance too.

My experience at Characters Famous BBQ was exceptional. The service great, was greeted at the door, order taken promptly and within 10 minutes my order was ready. The food is absolutely delicious 😋. The price is great, along with the atmosphere. Southern BBQ with a bit of Character, is always A+. The ribs at Characters are insanely good. They also have great sides and a piece of pound cake for dessert. The service is very good, and you are served by Character himself. You must try this place for yourself!

This place used to be a hidden gem…however, it is no longer hidden…the word is out!
They are only open Wednesday-Saturday from 11-2, and if they run out of meat (usually do) they close sooner.
It is two black gentlemen that run the place, and they make some of the best bbq you will ever eat, especially the ribs!

This place was outstanding! Usually when people from the get famous, they don’t work and have others do it. That is far from the truth with characters famous bbq. Michael Character manned the pit and his business partner ran the counter. Great Q. Best I’ve had at a bbq house in Georgia. Yall really made us feel welcome.
