Service was good. The quality of the food is good, but the value is lacking because the portion sizes are rather small. I enjoyed the glazed salmon, but it didn't come with enough vegetables. My wife and mother-in-law had the pork chop and said it was good, but the collard greens were too salty.
Restaurant was too cold, customers and wait staff all needed coats. The food was mediocre, I returned my food. It wasn't good. Very loud, could hear other tables. Overall, can't recommend and won't be back. There are so many options at Avalon.
Bar tender Lance was great! As for the other ladies- servers and hostess. They stood at the corner of the bar leaning/sitting up on the area talking loudly, drinking their drinks and on their phones. Cool you’re slow but as a customer, I do not want to see that or hear about your gossip. Also, watched two other people waiting on their check go up and ask for it. Just bad customer service. I came to have a drink with my friends. Not sure I will comeback to this place.

Service was poor at best. It wasn't busy so that wasn't why, they simply stood around and talked to each other and ignored us.
We came into the restaurant with a party of 8 around 2:15 and left close to 5. We had known that we obviously wouldn’t get sat down immediately, but while cleaning off our table the servers stopped multiple times to just stand at the drinks and talk. When we did get sat, the table was still damp, and our server only periodically dropped by to drop off more essentials (menus, utensils, plates, coasters) in the span of 10 minutes before disappearing without so much of a word. We were able to order ONE appetizer before our server once again disappeared. It was as if our server was ignoring our table: running around with empty plates, flipping around empty checks, and standing idly clicking his pen and talking to coworkers. Our appetizer was done and sitting on the counter for at least 5 minutes before it was brought over. The service was absolutely baffling considering we were the only clients in the establishment at the time. As we sat waiting for our server to even acknowledge us as we tried to wave him over multiple times, guests sat down after us had gotten their food already, waters refilled, etc before our server even acknowledged our existences again especially for us to order our entrees. It took us an hour to just get our orders put in. More than that, our server wouldn’t even bring out our orders. He had another server do so, and it had taken us asking 2 other servers to finally get refills on waters. The food we got was extremely underwhelming: the burgers were very much burnt and dry; the fries were unseasoned, some hard while others were soggy; pasta was oily, and the food was just sitting not being served once again. Additionally, the atmosphere was meager as we were constantly surrounded by dirty tables that sat there for the entire duration of our stay when employees were idling around conversing rather than serving clients. We understand that they seemed understaffed with two chefs, a bartender, and two servers from what we could see, but that is not an excuse to stand around and do nothing when there are paying clients. It’s disrespectful of others’ time and money. The most attention we got from our server was when we were giving our formal complaints to the bartender about the food as he stood by and eavesdropped. We even waved him over once before for him to look straight at us, turn away and continue walking before remembering he had a job to do, stopping in his tracks, and begrudgingly coming over. In all, the service was horrible and the food was underwhelming.

Had a great experience here, the brie appetizer, brussel sprouts were great! Had the pork chop and grouper sandwich were amazing!
Cobb Salad and Salmon Salad were great. Rosemary Chicken soup flavorful and hearty. Pretzel trio and deviled eggs were delicious apps. Plan to try the amazing looking burgers on the next visit.
Excellent food, warm service, and a stylish, inviting atmosphere. Every dish is flavorful and thoughtfully prepared, and the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. It's the perfect spot for a night out, whether you're celebrating or just enjoying a great meal. Highly recommend!
Your host dropped the door on me as I was leaving. He came flying in the door while I was walking out, flew past me, said no goodbyes, no courtesy, nothing!!! With the handful of customers in there, there is no wonder why with that lack of professionalism and common courtesy! Unbelievable!

We tried a variety of items, including the fried pickles, chicken, cheeseburgers, and a couple of other dishes. The food was above average and everything tasted fresh. The service was okay—nothing bad, just not especially memorable. Overall, the value for the experience was okay. A decent spot if you're in the area and want a solid meal.
Solid drinks. Solid service

Usually pleased with the overall experience, but not tonight. Two plates of food came back lukewarm. The service was not up to par for the restaurant and what it usually is. it was slow and disappointing.

If you plan to go for a quiet meal, forget it. It is very loud. There is no carpet to absorb noises, so it echoes. The food is mediocre. It's essentially a drinking establishment with a meal selection that will not suit everyone's taste.
I was aimlessly wandering Avalon as I was there for work, and stopped in as I just wanted a bite and a drink without all the extras of a restaurant. Branch and Barrel was the perfect blend of a good chicken sandwich, a tasty bourbon drink, and a place to relax and watch a football game. You won’t find anything else like it in Avalon, and I was more than happy to stumble across it. The staff was also knowledgeable and very pleasant. If I ever get back to Avalon, I will most definitely be stopping in again.
