Butcher & Brew is a hip spot with great food and craft beers. Their sandwiches are packed with flavor, and the laid-back vibe makes it a great hangout.

Beer is good. Burgers are good. Price is a bit more than what it should be. But it's worth a return when the budget allows.

I’ve never been to a place that had such great food, but acted like they wanted us to leave. They closed the restaurant at 9pm on a Friday night and informed us at 8:36 that food orders stopped “in 20 minutes” as to discourage us from coming in and eating. Service was mediocre and took 10+ mins to initially get service in an empty restaurant. I’ve enjoyed their food as much as any restaurant in the Alpharetta area. It’s a shame the vibe was so poor.

Stopped in during a hot day to quench thirst! Solid choice of local brews on draft (any hop head would appreciate), cocktails and wine list. Menu was smaller, but reflected some unique choices to compliment the focus on beverages. My only knock: wait staff shut kitchen down early on a Sunday evening with small number of patrons finishing dinner. All good as any reasonable customer would understand the cost complexity to manage the establishment.

Conclusion: liked this place with it's bar / menu choices. Well worth a stop while walking through downtown Alpharetta!!

Butcher & Brew has been one of our weekly stops for the past 3+ years, but (as many have already stated) they ruined a great thing. The owner tried to go “upscale” to create a more foodie gastropub experience but has failed. Not only is the interior still a super casual sports bar feel (which we love) - they neutered the menu of all their most popular entrees. And THEN they raised their pricing. If all that wasn’t bad enough, most of their key employees saw the writing on the wall and left.

We have shared our thoughts directly with the owner, but he doesn’t appear ready or willing to listen to us or the rest of the market (his previously loyal customers). You can definitely see a decline in traffic to the restaurant.

The market is moving on. But there’s still time to do a simple reset (to the way things were) and your loyal customers would come back. Just don’t wait too long as the downtown area is growing, will soon have more choices, and Butcher & Brew will be forgotten. Listen to the market and you will quickly return to the success you had before!

Service was good. Ketchup had a funny taste, sure didn't taste like Heinz. Maybe Hunts or generic?

Food was meh and pricey for pub food.

I didn't drink on my visit, but they had some good beer at decent prices. I love Cigar City. $4 PBR and $5 Mich Ultra is great.

The tiny side pickles were cute and flavorful. Chips were good.

My Chicken Avacado sandwich wasn't great. I didn't finish half of it, but I may have grossed out by the Ketchup.

We came by yesterday to get THE amazing pulled pork nachos. The bartenders (only good thing left at B&B sadly) told us they don't have them anymore... to top that off, we looked at the menu, and they don't even have any pulled pork... no more pulled pork? B&B used to be a staple restaurant in downtown Alpharetta. I am reading the new reviews here, and i totally agree with them, mediocre food selection on the menu and higher prices. What is the management team doing? Don't change something that works. Sadly, they have lost 2 more customers. We went to try Central City Tavern instead, and their Nachos was delicious.

I went back for the first time in a few months, sadly the prices have gone up, portion sizes have gone down and the quality just doesn't seem as good.

Butcher and Brew in Downtown Alpharetta has been our favorite go to since it opened. As of last month we would give 5 stars ⭐️
After Friday night I am struggling to give it 2 stars . We dined last night with our 3 adult children and from the second we we walked in it was different! The hostess was scattered, told us they have reservations for tables that were empty - B&B now takes reservations? Once seated it took a while for server to greet us - we ordered our FAVORITE burger the B&B ( which was still good )
but came out on a much smaller plate with half as many fries - that they changed to thicker and NOT GOOD - what happened to the piping hot mound of shoe string fries ? Don't mess with what works. The server was few and far between - and to top it off she added an automatic 20% gratuity to our bill for party of 6 . Not sure what's going on there , new management? Cutting costs ? Whatever it is - it's going to quickly loose regular customers like us! Don't think we will go back - sadly!

This is absolutely a disaster. We came once a week for 3 years and LOVED it.
Menu has changed completely. Bowls are gone. Prices much higher Regular staff all gone. Why would an owner do this to an iconic downtown alpharetta restaurant?
Should have kept the menu and raised the prices… happy to pay more for food we love. Will not pay more for food that is now very basic. Very Sad.

Yes, the menu changed. Get over it. 10x better. The salmon tartar app is out of this world. Come here for that alone. The new burger is incredible. About to try the French dip next . It's a weekly spot now, wasn't with old menu, but this one is great

I really like the new menu. The mussels were really good. I tried my friend’s pork steak and it was excellent.

We used to LOVE this place. Now it just sucks. They redid the menu and it’s overpriced and not enjoyable. The chicken sandwich was plain, paid five dollars for FIVE mediocre onion rings, fried fish was underwhelming and boring. We used to absolutely love sitting outside so our toddler could watch the cars drive by, but until the menu returns to its previous options, we unfortunately won’t be returning. The server was really nice and went out of her way to get our 2yo some milk.

When they had the old menu the place was great but with the new menu the place has become mediocre at best.
