I often go to this restaurant for dinner with my family. Recently, I had a horrible experience trying to order a pick up order with a manager named Lydia. She was passive aggressive and not manager material at all in my opinion. I was trying to order four adult entrees and asked for complimentary chips and salsa. She told me the salsa will come in a tiny container. Normally when I have placed a take out order with Miquel another manager at this location he gives us the correct portion of salsa for four people. I mentioned this to her and she told me sorry this is our policy. So the policy is inconsistent!? If I wanted a complimentary chips and salsa for each entree I was told I need to call in 4 different orders....Are you kidding me! Then she said you would have to buy the chips and salsa . So, I am thinking the manager is ok losing a $60 dollar order then give complimentary chips and salsa for 4 people. Mind you we have been ordering and going to this restaurant for 12 plus years. She would not budge even after I drove up there to speak to her person to ask if this was true. So I left without placing an order. Sad that it has come to this. I look forward to hearing from upper management.

We are long standing customers given the proximity of the restaurant. I just tried to place an order 1/22/2026 at 6pm and the manager (woman) was extremely rude. I was ordering dinner for 5 people and she wanted to charge for chips and salsa - seriously!??
She said one per order REGARDLESS of order size - seriously? So I can split the 5 dishes to 5 separate orders and I would get 5 chips and salsa!!?? C’mon for God sake. Where’s your common sense?
Is this how you treat your regular customers!?
She wouldn’t give me her name and hung up on me, but I think it is Lydia
I would avoid this restaurant El Porton John’s Creek Luke the plague.

Update: the Quesobirria was amazing and our server was equally great.
Good food, good chips, and great margaritas. The atmosphere was very fun and the service was good. I didn't love the molcajete but everyone else really liked what they got.

Went there for taco Tuesday and the tacos were amazing. I've been to a lot of Mexican restaurants, but hands down they have the best hard shell tacos I have ever tried.

Nice restaurant, really good food. I suggest the surf and turf queso appetizer. It tasted so good that I would like to make it at home some day.

1) Used to come here all the time and bring large groups. Less lately due to constant price hikes and the following stuff….
2) Tonight I placed a small pickup order. Bowl of chicken tortilla soup. On the drive there they called me and said they didn’t have it and asked if I wanted regular chicken soup instead. I agreed because I was almost there. Got there paid. Then I noticed the price on their active Google maps menu said the chicken soup was $7 but was charged for the tortilla soup $10. I showed them the price listed. Instead of making it right due to the discrepancy the manager chose to argue with me. It’s not the $ that sticks out to me most in this case. It’s the manager not being able to see the situation (not having what we ordered in the first place combined with the active price on Google maps saying a different price but she chose to argue). A little customer service goes a long way…
3) another issue with Togo orders. You order a small queso. You get a small bag of chips. You order a large queso you get the same small bag of chips. Large queso should come with more chips. Not nearly enough to finish the dip. They will argue with you if you point this out. Let’s use common sense here folks.

Stupid issue over not providing customary amount of chips for a to go order with queso and soup. The manager did not resolve the issue . A simple fix- give the lady her chips so she can eat all of her queso and soup..
good thing the soup didn’t measure up today anyway. Won’t be back to this location for sure.

This establishment is highly recommended as a top-tier Mexican restaurant, potentially the best in John's Creek and possibly even the greater Atlanta area. The food, service, bar, and staff have all received exceptional feedback, earning a five-star rating. Continued excellence is encouraged, and it is strongly suggested that those unfamiliar with the cuisine experience it.
