The gas station location was the OG and where I discovered this joint, still a special place in my heart. Delighted these folks got a brick and mortar- these are some of the best smash burgers around- they are for sure NFA. Very, very hard to beat- it is happiness on a bun with tots. If you’re looking for a great burger this is it- in fact, if you’re looking for a great place to eat just look at the handful of reviews here that are NOT 5 stars and see where else they disdain and probably go there, for they are fools with poor taste (literally)- NFA is worth repeat visits. Sorry to have taken photos, will update next time I roll through.
Flavorful and tasty burger
NFA Burger at Avalon delivers a truly exceptional burger experience that lives up to every bit of the acclaim. The quality is undeniable — from the expertly crisped smash patties to the perfectly melted cheese and signature tangy sauce, every element is thoughtfully crafted. The soft bun holds everything together without overpowering the flavors, creating a balanced, satisfying bite from start to finish. While the Avalon location offers a more polished setting than the original, the food remains the star. It’s bold, flavorful, and remarkably consistent. For anyone serious about great burgers, NFA at Avalon is an experience not to be missed.
Best Burger ever!!!
Awesome spot. Burgers are consistently great and the service was perfect!
I’m not a burger place and usually take off the bread because it’s a filler BUT this damn burger holy HELL my mouth is watering thinking about it, WAS THE BEST THING IVE EVER HAD! Staff was friendly. Burger came out fast. Barely a wait. Maybe now is the time to come after the crowd has died down. But let’s get back to the burger. Kept the bun on lol even had it all the way. Figured if they know what they are doing…I can’t argue with that. And it all worked. I want to go back today but it has a lot to live up to with yesterdays perfection. 🥰
Perfect smash burger, great service too.
NFA Burger at Avalon absolutely never misses! I got The Classic with tots and a side of their signature Sassy Sauce, and it was everything I hoped for and more. The Classic is a smash burger done to absolute perfection—thin, crispy edges with a juicy center, topped with melted cheese, mustard, and pickles. It’s simple but beautiful, and every bite hits just right.
The tots were hot and crispy, and dipping them in the Sassy Sauce took them to another level. The quality, flavor, and consistency keep me coming back. If you’re looking for an unforgettable burger experience, this is it.
We were so excited to check out the newly opened NFA Burger at Avalon, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! The food was every bit as amazing as the original Dunwoody location—maybe even better with the energy of the new spot!
We both ordered The Double (The Classic) and paired it with Sassy Fries and Margaritas—let me just say, the burgers were perfectly smashed, juicy, and full of flavor. The fries had that signature kick, and the margaritas? Strong, smooth, and dangerously good!
What really made our visit stand out was the top-notch service. Mason was incredibly helpful, answered all our questions with a smile, and really made us feel welcome. Both he and Haley checked in on us several times, and it felt like we were regulars already.
If you’re anywhere near Avalon, do yourself a favor and stop by. NFA Burger brings that same bold flavor and down-to-earth vibe you love—now in the heart of Alpharetta!
Now you can enjoy the fabulous NFA burger at an indoor, sit down location with table service!
Excellent food quality and taste to Billy’s exacting standards.

The burgers at NFA Burger are delicious, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with a lot of pride. The old-school burger joint vibe is fun and inviting, and it’s easy to see why people rave about the food.
That said, the wait time was much longer than anticipated for a quick bite, and while I was happy to be patient, I checked reviews while waiting and was honestly surprised by what I found. Several customers had left helpful, constructive feedback about ways to improve the new location’s operations, but the owner’s responses were shockingly rude, defensive, and dismissive.
It’s disappointing to see that kind of reaction/response. A willingness to listen and grow is key for any business, especially one with such a great product.
The food alone is worth trying, but I hope the leadership becomes more open to feedback and shows the same care to customers that they put into their burgers
We ate outside and despite a busy afternoon, we had no trouble getting a table at the railing overlooking the green. Burgers and Fries were fantastic and a very worthy splurge. We were so excited by our burgers, we forgot to get pictures! 😂 😂
Drove 20 miles got to door guy at door hands you a menu and then tells you that after you order it is a 50 minute wait for your burger. Line was long so could be another 20 minutes to order. There were a lot of people who were sitting waiting on their food. Not going to wait that long for a burger. Need to get their kitchen in in gear. Better look at chick fil la. Not coming back any time soon.
The food was great and the staff was very friendly. It’s so nice having a more affordable option at the Avalon other than just pizza. The place just opened with a lot of hype so a long line was to be expected and they still have a few things to work out. Anyone complaining about that in bad reviews must have unrealistic expectations for newly opened businesses.
Pretty solid. Burgers are good, but the sauce is a little acidic for my taste. Seasoned crinkle-cut fries are good but not made in-house (they are SureCrisp). Very good service! No need to clear your own table. No cash accepted.
