Great place. Menu has a little bit of everything. Shared small plates of grilled octopus and brussels sprouts which were both excellent. Not a large gluten free options but chef was able to accommodate the Thai chicken wrap by wrapping it in lettuce and did a great job.
Dietary restrictions: Some gluten free options.

Showed up at 9:20 on a Saturday Night for a cocktail and said they were closing in 15 minutes even though they supposedly close at 10 on Saturdays. Staff said to go ahead and sit down but didn’t want to be rushed to finish a cocktail in 15 minutes. What kind of restaurant/bar closes at 9:35pm on a Saturday Night? The other restaurants and bars were busy and lively at this time, so I guess this is just a good place to go early.
If you go, please try the smash burger and fries with a side of their ranch. It’s so good!! It’s honestly the reason we keep going back (their cocktail menu is great and always on rotation as well)

It was decent - not sure I would be back though. It’s almost like the restaurant is still trying to find its identity. The menu offers Asian, Italian, and American dishes - none of which are really cohesive. There was some industrial gothic decor as soon as you walk in, followed by neon signs, a giant wolf painted on the back wall, a space man painted on some skateboards hanging up, an orange Buddha, and some hanging planters - which to me comes across as eclectic, but again nothing really connected. As far as the food goes - I was with a group and we ordered many of the small plates - the chicken skewers, the noodles, the potatoes and the Brussels sprouts. The potatoes and the Brussels were absolutely delicious. Pro tip - the appetizer noodles are the exact same thing as the noodles from the kids menu - not sure which one is cheaper, but just fyi. The skewers were okay - but only 2 come on the plate. We also ordered 2 of the 3 salads presented - the wedge and the tomato. The wedge was absolutely delicious. The tomato - our friend got that one and there were still produce stickers left on his tomatoes that were in his salad. So either the tomatoes were not washed properly or someone was not paying attention. One of the couples ordered the chicken piccata and said it tasted like the restaurant was trying to “make it their own” - instead of just doing a traditional piccata where there isn’t anything wrong with it to begin with. Stay away from the cheeseburger. For 24 dollars, it was like a meatloaf with a piece of cheese on a tiny bun with pickled onions - that’s it. The French fries are obviously frozen and not freshly made. You’d be better off getting the kids burger. We also ordered a medium rare stake that really came out closer to medium well - we ate it, but it wasn’t cooked the way we ordered.I get that the menu is small, but when options are limited, with those prices, everything should be flawless.I will say our water was fantastic and so were the cocktails. I had a hibiscus one and it was top notch. I do not recall our waiters name but he was really awesome and accommodating.Overall, it was okay - good, not great.

Located in the old Jones House of the Alpharetta city center is where you will find Restaurant Holmes. The owner and chef is Atlanta native Taylor Neary and here you will find a wonderful balance in seasonal plates that entertain nearly as much as the environment around you. Open for just at a year the restaurant is doing many things fun and exciting. Chef Neary's resume is filled with northern Atlanta staples including but not limited to: Kyma, Roux and Little Alley. At Holmes he is taking charge and getting to fully express his talents without the restraint of a status quo. Dinner should start with one of their cocktails. Impressively some include juices that a clarified using a centrifuge and even come in local beer cans. There is also beer and wine available but the cocktails is where the talent shines. I was a little perplexed to see such a high price tab on these drinks however and have not encountered ones in that territory since moving away from DC. The menu is a great showcase for our southern terroir without being fried filling foods but rather many local farm flavors. Creating a lunch or dinner that turns into an experience and memory among customers is what their menu aims and succeeds in by having many sharable small plates. For us this resulted in great conversation and discussion which is something I appreciate and love about dining out. One favorite of the night was a tender octopus with pickled red onion but you cant go wrong with any of their elevated veggie dishes. If in the area Restaurant Holmes is a must visit.
This farm to table restaurant has a small, but delicious menu. When we visited, they had chicken, beef, and seafood options, all locally sources.
I had a cocktail, pork belly tacos, and chicken skewers. If your favorite cocktail ingredient is simple syrup and your favorite flavors in a meal are salt and sugar, you will love Restaurant Holmes. They've really nailed classic American fare.
Went here for a Christmas Dinner Party with the work group, about 20 of us. Even though there was only one waitress, I do t remember my glass being empty. I am a meat and potato guy, but someone ordered the Sprouts, which had a honey chipotle sauce on a bed of ranch. Certainly a tasty way to get your greens. Higher price, but the portion sizes made up for it.
The patio was warm, the cocktails were cold, the food was delicious, and the service was fantastic! Located in an historic house in downtown Alpharetta, we found Holmes to be a cozy spot buzzing with people on a Friday fall night. The brussels sprouts were incredible, the shrimp and grits were delicious, and the pork loin was perfectly done with an out-of-this-world wood-fire smoked artichoke puree. We finished with a decadent caramel brownie bear on the heated/enclosed patio and we left absolutely stuffed-- no regrets!! Can't wait to come back!
Small menu but really solid and fantastic drinks. Really enjoyed it. Service was great as well. Definitely recommend!
Dietary restrictions: Had some gluten free options but small menu so not too many.

My girlfriend and I have been coming here for a couple years and they have always had the best food in the city. We were pretty disappointed with the new menu. The prior one was very vegan friendly and the best items have been removed, specifically the potatoes. They were replaced with some chips that were ok. There was just way too much honey on them. Half the bowl was filled with honey and they were soggy. The drinks are always good though.
Restaurant Holmes is serving up unique small plates with local fresh ingredients, a seasonal menu, and craft beverages in the iconic "The Jones House" in Alpharetta. Per sign in 1914: " 'The Jones House', a craftsman style home was built for Will Jones and his wife May Jackson Jones at a cost of $515.00....In July, 2018, Restaurant Holmes opened in Jones House becoming the City Center's development's first tenant to open." I loved the sunny porch, the large floor to wall mural of the wolf, and the "keep the vibes" fluorescent neon sign which made the perfect photo op. There was also an orange statue of Buddha that you can rub for good luck and an out-of-this-world "To Mars" panel art. One thing that was really cool were the ice cubes that were engraved with "Holmes".This would be a great spot for a cozy date night or family get-together.What I tried at Restaurant Holmes. I had a cocktail called "Pretty in Pink" which had gin, bergamot, hibiscus, citrus, and bubbles. Then "Big Willy" poured up with bourbon, passionfruit, and citrus. Next, it was time for Staples (Appetizers) and I went with the brussels sprouts that had Korean barbecue sauce, creme fraiche, toasted seeds, and chives. The brussels sprouts were really yummy mixed with the Cacio e Pepe, handmade noodles, parmesan and cracked black pepper. Then was time for the Proper Entrees and I went for the Game Hen served with mushroom risotto and pan gravy. I also tried the Hanger Steak which was eight ounces and wood-grilled with a beer marinade paired with a carrot puree, broccolini, and crispy garlic.Restaurant Holmes: keeping the vibes! Had the Redfish special. As I told the waitress it was stupid good. The filet was good as well. We sat out side on the deck. Was a great dinner.
The salmon dish was so delicious and presented beautifully. The wine we chose from Paso Robles "If You See Kay" was very good also. Wonderful sitting outside and waiter was really nice and attentive. Great job and highly recommend. Compliments to the chef!
Made a reservation for a business lunch in their private room. When we arrived, there was no private room and they put us in the break room with the mops, cleaning products and dirty laundry. Staff was dressed like they were headed to the beach. Not professional at all. And the food was not good. The pork tacos were 80% fat and 20% meat. They put the wrong sauce on the chicken sandwich. I was embarrassed that I brought people there.
